people who only like the brawls and can't appreciate master boxers are only casual fans the only difference between them and big tit bimbos rooting for blood and knockouts and booing when boxers are studing eachother is that the casual fans might know the names of the fighters. a real fan appreciate all aspects of the sport and know that shutting someone out over 12 rounds is just as good and take more skill than brawling or knocking someone out in 2 rounds

I'm glad that Mayweather is fight Mosley, don't get me wrong. The point is that it's so hard just to get him to fight one. I think he only took the Mosley fight because be was trapped in the corner (with Pac taking on Clottey(pressure), the fans getting ready drop him(pressure), and Mosley being alvaiable to him with the drop of Berto) he had to choice but to take the fight. That's not a man who want to fight the best but a man who was forced to fight the best. Oh and just because the fight is signed doesn't mean it's goint to happen, Floyd can pull a trick out of his hat and say he's injured so the fight can still be off.

If Floyd was to say that i'm going to use my defense and take my time to break my opponent down than we would get the point. Instead he tells people to watch his fight because he's going to seek and destroy his opponent. What do we get on fight night, run, potshot, and hold. That's not displaying your defense skill, that's lying to people to sell your fight.

Real talk! When he's in the pocket rolling and dodging and counter its freaking amazing. Its too bad he's only there for about 45 seconds out of the 12 rounds. His skills are there but his cautious nature and snails pace bores the c**** out of me.

I do think its hilarious that all the *****s use their little catch-phrase "sweet science". As if 90% of them know any other defensive boxers besides Floyd and Sweet Pea. Ironically, their styles are completely different and Sweet Pea was far from boring.

When he decided to drop his hands and go for a knockout, his offense is actually quite brilliant to watch too.

He connects and sends the opponent back with devastating quick combinations ala Gatti. And he can connect with literally every punch cleanly. Its amazing to watch.

Sweet pea's style was a little different. He did alot of ducking and dipping, side to side movement. Plus he was great when it came into transitioning from defense to offense, and he was a bit of a showboat. Dude was better than Floyd, imo. He had a better resume.

Agreed and for the purpose of adding an opinion there really isn't any comparison to be made between Floyd and Pernell. Whitaker earned his reputation by facing the best possible opposition. His elusiveness is up there with Pep. He's the best boxer of the last 20 years. No question.

Mayweather hasn't proven himself against the best (since moving up) and now people are telling me he's the best defensive boxer of all time, he's fighting the best welterweight around...and so on..

Come on, Mosley will have been inactive for 16 months and he's ****ing on 40's door. Fact is Mayweather has not only taken this fight because he was forced into a corner, he's taken it because he holds every conceivable advantage when taking into account age and activity.

Don't get me wrong, Mayweather is a brilliant fighter but he'll never rank amongst the greats because there are too many questions unanswered concerning his resume.

no he doesn't Floyd always pride himself as being the smartest he never says I'm gonna knock this guy out or that guy when people ask him to predict he just says I'm going to win they ask how he says that's up to god. I've never heard Floyd say he gonna destroy or go to war with someone. he always says he will win that's it. as a boxer and a fan I enjoy watching Floyd fight as much as manny as much as the wars I love every aspect of boxing except punch n holding styles
