doesnt matter who he fights, he'll never get any respect on here

        Malinaggi: feather fisted

Maidanna: just a puncher who was way too slow

JMM: too small despite being lightweigh champ

        Hatton: shot

        Cotto: past prime

        Pacman: picking smaller fighter

        Mosley: past prime

        Margarito: finished after Mosley fight

        Diaz: too small

        Mayweather: looknig for a payday

        Valero: smaller fighter

bla bla bla bla bla always will be an excuse

Maidana the mandatory. Despite people saying there is no money in this fight and it needs building up I feel that theory is total bull****. Maidana is about as hot as he will ever be after the Ortiz fight just as Precott's value was at it's peak straight after he did a job on Khan. By delaying the fight he will most likely show himself up like Prescott has. Maidana provides a yardstick to measure Khan by because we can compare his performance to Ortiz. Maidana has giant killer appeal right now and that won't last long. He is very beatable,is the mandatory and quite frankly has EARNED and deserves his shot .Right now Team Khan and Golden Boy look like a bunch of devious ducking slimeballs in how they have tied up the mandatory. Fighting Maidana would go a long way in restoring a semblance of credibility.

ma51f, You really do live in a dream world. There is only one fighter in your list I agree with you on Hatton but do you seriously think that Khan would not get respect for fighting Valero? Come on. Moseley past prime !!! Moseley would slaughter him. Your post is so out there ,it has to be a wind up. Nice one you nearly got me LOL.

Paulie would be interesting. I think Maidana is the best possible fight for Khan though. JMM would get owned by Khan as he is to small and far smaller then these welters! Khan needs to man up and fight someone his own size.

People keep saying how Khan NEEDS to fight Maidana to prove that he can take shots from a big puncher. Well news flash, he can't. I have no problem with Khan fighting good, well schooled, soft fisted fighters like Mallignaggi, Bradley, and eventually Mayweather. As long as they are good boxers, it's fine with me. It's not as if Khan team is avoiding Maidana to fight Gavin Rees. All the names mentioned alongside Khan's so far have been world class except from the shot, over the hill, Morales.

I would love to see Khan fight Maidana because I believe he can knock him out, but I have no problem with him stepping away from that fight. There is the issue that he shouldn't hold a belt if he isn't willing to fight his mandatories, and that issue is a correct one. I believe Khan should drop his belt if he isn't going to fight Maidana, and take the big money fights his name already attracts. Who cares abut belts anyway? To most boxing fans, belts are now empty tokens that only used to mean something. We all know who the good fighters are regardless of belts or accolades.

                  Fact is -

                  Khan - Mallignaggi /Good fight

                  Khan - Marquez /Good fight

                  Khan - Bradley /Good fight

                  Khan - Hatton /Good fight

                  Khan - Maidana /Good fight

Any of the above would satisfy me as a boxing fan. With Marquez and Bradley being the best fights in terms of pure boxing, and excitement.

timba1988, I pretty well agree with everything you have written although not Hatton but that is not Khan's but Hatton's fault. He has become SO FAT that he has undermined his own credibility that he shed enough weight without being a shadow of his former self. had he looked after himself I would agree with you 100%.
I also agree that if he does not want to fight Maidana for business reasons he should have vacated the title. That is fair enough but his seedy have your cake and eat it deal makes him look very bad.
