Yeah, Kessler is gonna get Knockedout. He's a bum!! Ward should win his fight with no problem. I really wanna see King Arthur vs Andre Dirrell. That's the best match up out the 3.

The promoters are idiots for double booking their fighters on the same night on different networks.

You're an idiot. A promoter's job is to get his fighter the best possible fight deal. There are a limited number of opponents, venues, and more importantly, TV dates available to their fighters.

Is Lou Dibella supposed to tell Sergio Martinez, "Nah man, you can't fight Kelly Pavlik because another client of mine is fighting the same night?" Or Goossen supposed to tell Edison Miranda, "Yeah man, you could've had a shot at another title on HBO, even though you don't deserve it, but I passed on that because my homeboy Ward is busy that day."

These are subscription networks; they're not competing for ratings and viewers in the traditional sense. People who have subscriptions can watch one live and DVR the other, or catch the replay a few hours later. People who don't have subscriptions don't matter. The fans who had already made travel arrangements got screwed; Showtime and the promoters have been pushing the April 17th date for weeks and weeks now, and Showtime decided to make itself HBO's ***** by pushing their date back.

You're the idiot. If the promoter is thinking ahead even a little bit he would want the biggest possible audience tuning in to watch his fighter. That way he becomes known and more marketable for future fights.

Putting another bout on the same night only provides competition for yourself and splits the viewership. On top of that it pisses off Ken Hershman, VP of sports programming for Showtime who you should want to be on good terms with.

Those are dumb business practices any way you cut it.

Especially when there are so many other weekends a year without boxing.
