Top Rank is right in not rushing Valero,Gamboa, & Lopez

I think top rank is doing the right thing in guiding the career of the above said fighters. They are doing a great job in matching them carefully & letting them evolve at the right pace. A lot of boxing fans want to see gamboa & lopez now but i think it would be a inappropriate time right now.

Let them marinate a little. I think Gamboa can use a couple more fights before taking on juan ma. Id like to see him get some more rounds. Perfect opponent would be a rocky juarez who has never been knocked out & has gone up against likes of marquez, barerra, humberto soto, & chris john. That would be a great stepping stone for Gamboa. As for Juan Ma, it would be great to see him take on somebody like a chris john, someone who could test him boxing skills wise.

As for valero, if his plan is for big money fights & an eventual showdown with the pacman, he needs to go up to 140 & test the waters with someone like paulie malignaggi or nate campbell, then go for a timothy bradley.

Boxing fans should be patient & trust top rank who has guided the careers of floyd mayweather, oscar de la hoya, miguel cotto, antonio margarito, & manny pacquiao into great success. They know what they are doing.

I want them to be rushed because they are champs.

They got belts. Defend them against the best.

If they weren't going to put them in championship fights, i'd agree but I don't want any champ fighting scrubs just to retain their belts.

      **** that.

I think boxing would be 100x a better sport if we had less people thinking the way you do, no offense buddy, just my opinion.

actually he's rushing gamboa right in, putting him in there with caballero who is one of the toughest if not the toughest fighters around gamboa's weight. Dude is also like 5 inches taller than gamboa.

Good post Burner. When a fighter is mediocre like Lopez, I'd probably do the same thing when he is a Rican gravy train to go along with the fact that he is limited.

                valero vs. tim bradley?
                what are you smoking?
140 is a new ballgame from 135. valero gotz no names on his 27-0. i'll give him this...his build looks like it has potential to move up with effectiveness.
however, moving up to go for bradley could only be based on believing the hype of the 100% ko rate.
thats like thinking tyson was indistructable. how many times we gotta see it? ain't nobody can knock out everyone save daydachamp in a video game. modem off street talent a must marquis of queensbury. no hitting bellow the belt, no hitting behind the head, no headbutting, and whether you can follow them rules or not, you getting knocked out clean daydachamp says get up

i agree 100% all of that b.s. about moving a fighter slowly goes out the window once he holds a belt. imo if he can't beat the best in the division where he is considered the champion, he doesn't deserve the belt or the money. this mentality is what is turning boxing into wwe, where fighters are getting paydays based on popularity rather than accomplishments.

and it looks like arum has put lopez into p.c (Protect him from Celestino)
because for those who talk about the business side as if they were getting a cut, not one of them can say that celestino v gamboa is more marketable than celestino v juanma.
