This is what makes Boxing gay, especially the heavyweight division.

    Lyakhovich to get Title Shot

Houston, TX-- Kenny Weldon, trainer of Heavyweight contender Sergei Lyakhovich, informed 15rounds.com tonite that Sergei's scheduled fight versus Vladamir Klitschko has been called off, "for a much bigger opportunity."

Dan Rafael of ESPN.com is reporting that Don King is putting together a fight card for July 23rd from New York's Madison Square Garden. Chris Byrd will defend his IBF title versus Lyakhovich and Hasim Rahman will face Monte Barrett for the WBC interim title. Javier Castillejo vs. Ricardo Mayroga and Zab Judah could also be on the card.

Undeserving fighters getting title shots for no apparent reason. I hope he knocks Byrd out just to make the division that much weaker. Should have thrown Ruiz in with Byrd.

Just an expression, it is very complicated to ever give the dead heavyweight division a chance when fights are made like this. Why couldnt Ruiz and Byrd just get it on if Toney vs Byrd was signed?

Byrd is regarded as the number 1 heavyweight in my opinion but he will be removed if he doesnt step it up. Just aggravating the division is weak as it is but even Davarryl Williamson is more deserving than this guy.

Funny how this card went from being great to be possibly terrible in just a few days. I mean, give me a bloody break with this Lyakhovich. He gets one unimpressive win against a guy who was barely trying and who wasn't even that great in the first place and suddenly he's the third Klitschko brother.

I know that card could would have been the best card all summer and would have been a big attraction now it is another dud....This is wors than Dons last heavyweight card, which I thought wasnt that bad.

Zab is on the card though and he better fight a name opponent to swoop in and save the day for New York on that night.

          Calvin Brock
          Davarryl Williamson
          Wladimir Klitschko
Larry Donald-I actually want to see him fight Byrd, I think he would give him fits.

Are more deserving than that guy.

              Ruiz vs. Byrd ?

Why would anybody who enjoys boxing want to see that fight ?

The only reason I'd watch it, is because Byrd would smack Ruiz around. Ruiz can't handle the little guys, that's been proven.
With Byrd's left-handed stance, Johnny would never get to unleash his deadliest weapon, the ol' step n' grab.
Byrd would just slide to his right when Ruiz tries it.....easy fight for Byrd.

I think it's apparent.....John Ruiz will never be out of the spotlight....
              He's a ****in' ****roach.
You all like ****roaches ? Do you all "respect" ****roaches because they have staying power? When you see a ****roach in your kitchen, do you accept it, because "Hey, the roach is doing what he has to do." ???

              Think about that.

It's better than seeing Byrd fight some overhyped stiff. At least a couple of the titles would be unified.

Also, it's possible Ruiz might keep going with his more open style (relative to the way he usually is, anyway) making the fight at least as decent as the one against Toney. And if Byrd can slip him when he tries to hug, so much the better. In the heavyweight division these days you have to take what you can get.
