Comments Thread For: Latest Top Rank PPV Built With The Future In Mind

By Jake Donovan - You can call it Pinoy Power 3. You can call it Latin Fury 13. The folks at Top Rank couldn’t make up their mind, instead deciding to roll with both titles.

Whatever label you prefer, there’s one thing that this weekend’s card can be referred to as: an event with the immediate future in mind.

All too often these days, fights are put together for the sake of keeping a fighter busy. There’s the promise that something big awaits “in the wings,” but more often than not we’re stick witnessing the gloved version of kick the can.

The lineup presented for this weekend’s show at the Las Vegas Hilton (Saturday, Top Rank PPV, 9PM ET/6PM PT) doesn’t immediately jump out as one that justifies the $40 price tag accompanying it. What can be said about the card, however, is that the winners of each of the televised bouts stand to reap immediate benefits.

You can’t say that about most of the bigger pay-per-view events, which are almost always loaded with showcase mismatches from top to bottom, bouts serving as little more than auditions for yet another televised showcase down the road. [Click Here To Read More]

I wouldn't spend $40 for this..... Sorry! Nonito Donaire is the headliner against a bum. He's kind of overrated. The Pinoy fighters are coming on strong but their gonna begin 2 get hyped up a little bit 2much b/c of Pacquiao & the huge Filipino following.

against bum???? or may be Donaire MADE THEM look bum. Do you even have enough boxing knowledge to know that ALL OF THE CHAMPIONS and ELITES in Donaires divisions are AVOIDING HIM.

Do you know what happen to Darchinyan? the guys who did the CHICKEN DANCE

UNTIL NOW Darchinyan is hiding from Donaire. Darchinyan has the belts, Donaire wants them. BUt if Darchinyan will always play the FLoyd Mayweather COWARD tactics....Nonito Donaire will have a hardtime making the REMATCH happen.

Donaires new solution?...he will go up in higher weight and fight the best there. I hope they will not follow the Chicken Dance Darchinyan by DOnaire.

Mexican Warriors and Filipino Warriors are the TRUE GLADIATOR of BOXING. They FIGHT WITH SUCH INTENSITY FANS WANT MORE OF IT.:3some:

Well you figure, boxing is a business and Arum ****s all the Mexican Fans, Puerto Rican Fans, and Filipino fans by showcasing these types of fights. So the Pinoys will by it as much as the Mexicans will buy Latin Fury.
