2010 Miguel Cotto's last year as a boxer

What fights would you like to see him take? I love Cotto, will be really really sad to see him retire, I've watched all his fights live since 2006 and they are on at like 3-5am over here.

    Yuri Foreman (3 weight champion)
    ???
    ???

I'd like to see him get at least one more HUGE fight, maybe Mayweather or Mosley rematch but I don't blame him for not fighting Margarito again.

He would be a 3 weight champion if he beats Yuri. He already won titles at Jr WW and WW.

If he beats Yuri and the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight doesn't happen there is a really good chance Cotto-Mayweather could happen. The winner of Paul Williams-Kermit Cintron is also an option and it would not surprised me at all if Arum moves him to 160 to face Kelly Pavlik to give him a chance to become the first Puerto Rican to win 4 titles in 4 different divisions.

Yuri Foreman and a Margarito rematch.

Cotto's been in some tough wars and fought the best fighters out there. He's a man that took on everyone he could.

I wouldn't want to see a pavlik cotto fight lol r u serious one right hand from kelly might make cotto a permanent vegetable honestly with all the shots he has taken. Fight yuri than fight someone else don't care really say like a berto then call it quits. Thanks miguel for the great memories you brought to your fans in the ring

I don't think this will be his last year.

Say he has a big 2010, why would he shutout 1 last big payday in 2011?

Let's wait and see how he looks in his next fight. I think Cotto's still got enough left in the tank, but needs a new direction and guidance.

BTW: has anyone heard about Cotto's team approaching Berto for a fight in June instead or Foreman? I heard this from a few different people in the NYC area who are around the business. I think that's a much better fight for Cotto.

I didn't say I want that fight to happen but with Arum anything is possible. If they could put some sort of catchweight like 155-156 it would make it seem like Cotto has a better chance. I think he will fight Yuri and if he wins I think Paul Williams-Kermit Cintron winner or Sergio Martinez.

Cotto going to 154 is bad news. He just doesn't have the size for that division. He's better off at 147. Not every fighter HAS to move up in weight. Pavlik would never go below 160 let alone a catch weight of 155, and Martinez, Williams, and possibly Yuri beat Cotto.

I'm hoping for Cotto's sake they get the Berto fight made for June.

Those are just rumors. From what I heard Cotto is set on moving to 154 and fighting Yuri for the belt. A win against Yuri makes him a 3 division champion and ties him with the likes of Trinidad, Benitez and Gomez.

I agree with you but I think he can still beat Yuri at this point no matter the weight. Cotto does well against fighters like Yuri but that was in his best days so we would have to wait and find out how much he has left in the tank.
