Rocky Marciano's power: Fact or Fiction?

We all know Marciano could ****, but do you think they exaggerate the hell outta Rocky's power or do you think its justified? i was doin some browsing and heres a few things i read about his power, some of it is the stuff of legend ....

The right hand he landed on Walcott (known for his good chin) was said to be the single hardest punch ever landed in a ring. When Walcott went down the crowed roared but then fell deathly silent, observers thought Rocky had snapped his neck with one swing. Walcott's corner spent 3 minutes tryna wake him with smelling salts. needless to say Walcott didnt remember what happened. (the KO on Walcott was voted the greatest ever on an ESPN poll in 2006)

Rocky put Carmine Vingo in a come with one punch to the temple. thankfully Vingo recovered but promptly retired.

Archie Moore can attest to Marciano's power.in the 6th round of their fight Rocky threw vicious uppercuts and hayemakers NONSTOP for 45 seconds. heres what Moore said of Rocky.
"It was like fightin an airplane propeller"
"I tried to make him punch himself out, but he just never runs out of gas"
When asked which punch hurt the most he said "Man they all hurt! it was like gettin hit with a bag of rocks"

When Marciano fought Roland LaStarza, he pounded on LaStarza's shoulders and forearms nonstop for 3 rounds, until LaStarza was in so much pain he couldn't lift his arms to his face. Then Marciano knocked him through the ropes (lol). LaStarza's forearms were both broken and their bruises were beaten into thick jelly that had to be surgically removed.

Marciano's punch was tested and it was featured in the December 1963 issue of boxing illustrated: "Marciano's knockout blow packs more explosive energy than an armour piercing bullet and represents as much energy as would be required to spot lift 1000lbs one foot off the ground"

Marciano once said of his power " I dont aim for his face, i aim for the back of his head"
He trained his punches on a special 300 lb punching bag because the normal 80 lb bags no longer held up to his power. After a while he was able to bend the 300 pounder in half with either fist.

    Rocky Marciano's record was 49-0 (43)
He won his first 16 bouts by KO all before the 5th round and 9 in the first round.

He sounds like a God! ...

    History is always slightly exaggerated.

    Just listen to Bert Sugar.

But I'm sure the man could ****.

And he was tough as nails.

And that KO% sure helps support the claim.

Marciano was a huge puncher. There's no two ways about it.

considering he was 185 lbs, and koed many much bigger men i'd say his power is pretty damn sick.

another thing i shuda mentioned is that rocky believed in training the hands aswell , hand grips and stuff like that. = stronger fist clench = harder punch
