The biggest thing here though is Khans footwork and his output; firstly Khans footwork outright blows, and that is NOT a trait you want to have when fighting someone like JMM. Secondly, khan does have great speed, but his power is pretty low on the scale and after the first few rounds his punches do notably lose their steam.
Great points.... I've been saying the same thing on both accounts for awhile but people are so ****** they only hear what they want to hear.

I wouldn't surprised if JMM comes into the fight at 135. I def do agree though that there is 0 chance that he weighs in at 140. People act like because the limit is 140 that JMM has to weigh in at that number and then fight terribly because of it.

I also agree that Khan's footwork is terrible. Yet his fans talk about speed, speed, speed. The only reason Khan's footwork has sufficed is because he has been fighting opponents too pathetic to do anything about it.

His hand speed is actually neutralized by his poor footwork. Khan cannot fight going backward because he is always running and not moving his feet like he should. His terrible footwork also prevents him from sitting down on his punches because he is too concerned with being able to get up on his toes and run if he has to.

JMM has shown that speed doesn't outright trump him; he lasted 24 rounds with Pacman (in two fights that some may argue he should have got the nod) and he lasted 12 against Mayweather. Mayweather is more experienced, infinitely more dimensional and FAr better at EVERYTHING than Khan, and JMM still landed on him. The shot that Marquez landed on Floyd in round 2 would level Khan easily.

Khan may have the edge in speed, reach and size, but Marquez is ****ing tough and he has incredible skills; enough skills infact to hang with people that have great advantages over him.

If JMM can get into the middle rounds, he'll take over from there.
Good Points. But offensively i reckon Amir has improved way more than we've seen since the Kotelnik fight but the quick win over a poor opponent(Salita) has kind of masked the power he has developed. As Alex ariza was talking about working on strength in both hands prior to the last fight.

Come the day of the fight anything could happen. But my bet would be with Khan

Exactly, Khans speed is almost a superficial trait that's had a large influence on getting him where he is.

In his early careeer (all but the last couple of fights) his stoppages have all been arm punch flurries by an over-eager hometown ref (and i'm British so i'm not making a xenophobic remark about foreign reffing). He has he ever actually knocked out? and if he HAD KO'd any of these people, then they were hardly of any kind of calibre to judge his power at a high-level.

His speed allowed him to get a decision over a titlist even khan referred to as the weakest ever (or currently? apologies cause i cant remember).

People commend him for his improvement, and he has indeed improved, but i do think the fact he beat Kotelnik of all people, and flattend Salita (a guy dropped by people with single digit KO percentages) REALLY flatter him; I don't think these show legitimately how great he is/could be.

His footwork though, as an outright fact, sbsolutely sucks. And I think footwork is predominantly a god-given thing. Sure you can train it like anyything, but if you aint got it from birth, you'll never be great at it. I look at Khan and his robotic, linear motions, and his appaling ring (and real life) IQ and just think he'll never progress with his footwork.

Which as I said seplls absolute doom when you face a veterain like JMM.

Khan will win this one by decision. Too big, too fast and has enough power in punches to gain the respect of Marquez.

You think? what makes you think Khan has this kind of power?

            Genuine question btw.

                  Khan win by stoppage

JMM would walk straight inot a one-two combo and he'll be out for the count

Khan too strong, too quick, just too good

As I've said before, who has Khan beat to justify any comments suggesting he'll KO Marquez? A guy Mayweather nor Pacquiao could KO, both faster and more powerful than Khan.

Khan's best win is Kotelnik, by a mile and Kotelnik isn't fit to lace the boots of Marquez. When you look back in 15 years time where will Kotelnik be on a lot of ATGs compared to Marquez?

I'd like Khan to win, I don't think a decision is beyond the realms of plausibility for Khan. But just forget any idea that Khan will KO JMM in any fashion. It won't happen. JMM will be there until the last bell, but will Khan? Now we'll see how his chin holds up.

Also people seem to have developed the idea of Khan's glass chin after he got KO'd from a punch that would have knocked out any lightweight in the division.
No, we've developed that idea after seeing Khan wobbled by any person to ever hit him with a hard punch.
