Vargas Already Declines Mayorga

When asked who his opponent might be, Vargas deferred to his co-managers Shelly Finkel and Rolando Arellano. He said "I wanted to fight Francisco Javier Castillejo, but Don King is politicking. I want the WBC belt, that is the only thing that matters to me". Rolando Arellano explained later that although they could not get a fight put together with Castillejo, and they refused to accept the 75/25 split that Mayorga's camp offered, they might try to get Michele Piccirillo so that they will become the mandatory for the WBC.

A firm date was not announced, but Vargas did mention Friday, August 6th as a possibility.

Whatever Vargas, you don't need the money that badly. Stop being such a ****ing pansy and take the fight for all of us here!

I think Vargas just wants to get 3 warm up fights before he takes on a tough challenge like Mayorga would be.

Come on Vargas looked rusty as hell against Joval, it is wise of him to wear off a little more rust before throwing him in with the dogs. That is what got his ass put on the shelf anyways.

Vargas is still young and needs to work off that rust.

I'd take you up on that. Far as I'm concerned Vargas will be annihalted if comes anywhere near Mayorga. Thats why he is ducking him now.
