    My Mayweather-Mosley Prediction

Judging on Mayweather and Mosley's styles, I've come up with this prediction:

I think Mosley will come out throwing lots of punches, thinking his speed will be able to prevent Mayweather from slipping away. But of course, Mayweather will slip away and counter. At the end of round 4 it will probably be 39-37 in favor of Floyd. By round 5, Mosley will realize that he cannot use his speed alone to catch Floyd, and will start clinching. This will slow Mayweather down a bit, and each fighter will win two more rounds.. By the end of round 8 I predict the scores to be 77-75. By the beginning of round 9, Floyd will have found a way to keep Mosley at a far enough distance to stop the clinching and pot shot his way through rounds (which will be how he stole at least two of the previous four rounds. For these next three rounds, Mosley will be trying to find ways to trap Floyd. Floyd will be more relaxed from here, stealing two rounds and allowing Mosley to take one, but most of his punches will hit air or Floyd's shoulders. At the end of the 11th round the scores will most likely be 107-102. The crowd will rise for round 12. ****m will alert Mosley that he is behind on the score cards, and he will be going all out in this round, trying to score his signature 12th round KO. Mayweather will be on the run for the entire round, clinching and slipping away with the ropes. Mosley will finally land a few good punches in the last 20 seconds, causing the crowd to go crazy but Floyd will never be truly hurt and will escape to a 116-112 unanimous decision.

Mosley's power is an interesting addition to the bout, but I don't believe it will be as big of a problem to Floyd as people think. Floyd has a solid chin, and he took some big shots from a 154lb Oscar De La Hoya very well throughout their fight. And they fought with Reyes gloves, which have less padding. Just look at what DLH did to Ricardo Mayorga in his previous bout.

I think Floyd has grown into his WW frame and from this fight on, he starts letting his hands go again. I think the pot shotting guy is gone forever

I don't know...I didn't see anything different in the JMM fight, aside from more jabs. But that could have been because of the huge reach advantage. He was still potshotting, countering, slipping away, then countering again and then backing up. He threw very little to no combinations. I wish his welterweight career was a bit longer. He's only had 5 fights in the division so far, and I've only seen him on the offensive side in one (the Judah fight).

Mosley is a sucker for a right hook, and he doesn't have that left straight to pierce Mayweather's D. Mayweather can hurt Mosley with his right but will be too cautious to throw it with regularity, opting instead with stiff right jabs to keep Mosley at bay, mixing those jabs to the head and the body.

Mosley will try to work the body, and throw that occasional looping right of his, hoping to get lucky.

Verdict: If Mosley gets to hurt Mayweather early we have a fight, if not, this will be something like dela Hoya v. Mayweather with Floyd winning on jabs in a glorified sparring session.

Something tells me this will be VERY similar to Mayweather-De La Hoya. Perhaps with Floyd throwing more punches though. I'm confident that he's gotten better since the DLH fight.

True and I thought Floyd was going to go at JMM but when I watch the replays I cut him some slack and I give JMM way more props than others. People think he looked out of his comfort but thats BS. Its only because Floyd gave him nothing to work with. I think Floyd wanted to go at JMM but dude was sitting there like a cobra. I think it shocked Floyd and he saw that JMM was the real deal with his boxing skills & counter punching. I just think the way JMM was standing put fear in Floyd's head that if he attacks then JMM is capable of countering. Shane is faster than JMM but I dont think Floyd has that same fear against Shane & Pac because he doesnt respect there overall boxing skill & countering ability. On top of that it was his 1st fight in 2 years.

With that being said, I realize that I am probably wanting something that may not be there. Still, I think his size will change that genuinely. The problem is, he could want to be more aggressive in this fight since he has grown but he's also facing the biggest/strongest/hardest hitting guy he ever fought so that could make him pot shot even if he didnt plan on it. However, Shane being so aggressive will give Floyd way more oppurtunities than he's had recently. We just have to wait & see but I wouldnt be shocked if he starts to let them go again

Mayweather will win a unanimous decision. But i still placed my e-points on Sugar coz i'm a certified floyd hater.

I agree with the TS, interesting prediction, I think Floyd will jab a lot more in this fight, and occasionally land with his leading straight right and left hook, but Mosley always tries to retaliate and that will be very interesting.

floyd will be stronger than faster in this fight d, you know why, because i feel he wants to fight shane in the pocket sometime in the fight, shane fights horrible in the pocket against boxers, and floyd is the boxer of boxers isn't he? and shane will be shocked by this---floyd is going back to cutting trees and running in boots for this fight---he wants his punches to be more crisp to go along with his ww frame now---he knows he'll have to throw stroner punches and he will----floyd will put a sting on shane, and not just a bee sting, if you know what i mean---when floyd fights shane in the pocket and realize he's landing on shane easily due to shane's lack of staying disciplined when he gets tagged and opting to fight a dogfight, coz shane's a fighter at heart, floyd will land and land and when shane goes into fight mode in the pocket, floyd will see how shane closes his eyes, and it's on from then on---this is what i feel----and i'm always fight on floyd fights, i know his styles--i'm telling you, shane will feel it----en route to a losing decision---
