    Trinidad-Wright analysis

Felix Trinidad, lacing up the gloves for just the third time in the past 3 years, is a 9-5 favorite over former undisputed junior middleweight champ Winky Wright, who is making his middleweight debut. Lots of questions going into this one. Can Wright take Tito’s punch? Did Tito really carry his punch to middleweight? He hit Mayorga with 142 power shots over the last 4 rounds-most flush, before the Wild Man succumbed. Can Tito penetrate Winky’s guard? Wright’s last six title fight opponents landed just 27% of their power shots-11% less than the jr. middleweight average. Can Tito get past Wright’s jab, one of the best in the business? What about Trinidad’s defense? It going to come down to Wright’s chin. If he can take Tito’s punch, he got an excellent shot at winning the fight. He’ll land his jab, that’s a given. What he follows with will be the key. If Wright boxes and doesn’t get caught up in a slugfest, he wins a decision. Will the judges see it that way?
