I don't think Valero is an elite fighter or anything but he's much better than Oganov ever was. Oganov fought nobody and lost when he stepped up in competition.

I know a few fighters from Valero's resume and he has more than one common opponent with Linares that he's done better against. P4P Pitalua and Zuniga are similar and look what happened to him.
