Is it just human nature to be harsh on fighters with perfect records?

    It depends.

I don't see any reason why people shouldn't be harshly critical of fighters who are protected and maintain their perfect record by taking easy (easier) fights.

As an athlete who played many different sports growing up I never had a choice in my opponents and I never shied away from a challenge. Nearly every season in every sport ended in a loss. That was the reality of competition.

I truly believe that it is virtually impossible for a fighter who loves to fight, loves a challenge and regularly aspires to test their limits to retire undefeated.

I think Floyd's going to be around for a lot more than 2 more fights.

Shouldn't these guys accomplishments be celebrated, instead of scrutinized? Is being a world/multi-world champ and being undefeated not enough to be considered great anymore?
Valero may be excused. He has no choice. It was only recently that he got exposure/license in the US.
