Coming from someone who thinks the world of Castillo...

Duran is just worlds better than Castillo at lightweight.

Castillo was still relativly competitive in the rematch, of course Floyd would do better the second time around (even if he wasn't injured, counterpunchers tend to do better in rematches)

imo so far JLC's given Floyd his two toughest fights ....

It's not like Castillo was destroyed in the rematch, he just lost clearly whereas the first fight is extremely arguable he won. Don't pretend Floyd wiped him off the map. The reason Castillo is brought up is that Duran is Castillo x1000000000. Everything that gave Floyd problems in his two fights with Castillo, magnify them.

I thought it was a very close fight the way people go on about it as a robbery is a joke,a robbery is when one fighter is completely dominant and loses, this fight could have gone either way and floyd shud get alot of respect for the immediate rematch...alot of fighter's would have taken the win and walked away...Castillo fought a great fight that night and caught floyd off gaurd I still dont tink he won it tho strangely....but I can see how people tot he did...

SO STOP THAT CASTILLO-DURAN-MARGARITO COMPARISON ****.

"Repeated mantra among “experts” is that the way to beat Mayweather (who, ironically, has never been beaten) is to pressure him a la Jose Luis Castillo. It is well documented that many feel that Castillo should have won his first fight with Mayweather (though 3 judges saw it differently) and point to this as the blueprint for Mayweather’s fistic Waterloo. More importantly, Hatton’s fans point to the fact that while Mayweather went the distance with Castillo (twice), Hatton crushed him in four.

Mayweather-Castillo I has served as a flashpoint of controversy between Mayweather’s fans and those who insist that the pound-for-pound champ should have taken a loss that night. The outcry following the match prompted Floyd to call for an immediate rematch, which was another unanimous decision, by an even wider margin that before. These facts are not up for dispute.

While fans constantly point to Mayweather-Castillo I as the Rosetta Stone of a Mayweather defeat, few care to admit (or are even aware) that Mayweather fought Castillo with a torn rotator cuff that night and still managed to win a wide-margin unanimous decision.

The question that has not often been asked is this: If Castillo possessed the tools to defeat Mayweather so resoundingly as alleged, why was he not able to summon the same performance in the second match? Further, why was he beaten even more convincingly in the rematch? Indeed it may be that Castillo’s performance in the first fight was impressive precisely because Mayweather was injured and the reason that the effort he turned against a healthy Mayweather seemed nothing more than pedestrian."

Jesus Christ man. I think you've got the honors of being Floyd's biggest secret admirer on this site. How many threads are you gonna make on one fighter? It's like a broken record.

What myth are u ending exactly??Comparing Castillo to Duran,is completely ******!!Floyd hasn't fought anyone in his life that can be compared to Duran,no one!!The real reason Duran has a higher chance of beating Floyd in fantasy fights is because of the level of his competition!!It pretty much is a fact Duran fought much better competition,so on that alone,Duran must be given the edge, period!!

In the mid rounds, you hear him complaining to Roger how his shoulder's killin him. But yeah, that's what a champion is supposed to do. Step it up in even the most dire situations.

That was a good fight though, Castillo did catch him wit some tough ass shots and Mayweather didn't faulter. That fight could have gone either way or a draw. But if you watch the rubber match, Mayweather blows Castillo out of the water.

                  Fcuk Mayweather.

First itme i seen the fight i had Castillo winning but when i seen it again i had Floyd winning.Floyd landed the cleaner punches despite fighting with a torn rotator cuff. This shows how tough Floyd is.

the myth is that he sonned Castillo in the rematch
                    not true
he rematched him and won clearly
props for that, but it wasn't an ownage as some have taken to thinking
it's all in the past anyway
only point to bringing up that fight is an opponent duplicating the strategy Castillo used since it was effective
