Cotto To Promote 10 Shows (Including his first one in New York)

Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment launched today their plans for 2010 that include 10 boxing shows in Puerto Rico and the first show of his promotional company in NY which will take place in the summer of 2010. The first show of his series “Boxeo Boricua” will be on Saturday, February 27 at the Roger Mendoza Coliseum. Hot prospect and USNBC featherweight champion Luis “El Artesano” Cruz (12-0, 9 KOs) will face Leon Bobo (18-4-1, 2 KOs) in the main event. Also on the card will be “The KO Artist” Juan “El Puma” González (6-0, 6 KOs), Juan “El Cowi” Herrera and Antonio Salgado.

“2010 will be full of great fights and great shows. I feel very excited with the plans that we have. We have so many good boxers that I can’t wait to see them succeed. Also this opportunity to present our first show in the Bronx, NY is really exciting for me. My brother Jose Miguel Cotto will be in the main event for this show and Luis Cruz will be the co-main event, we will give more details ahead of the show,” said Miguel Cotto.

    Tickets are available in Ticketcenter (787)792-5000, www.tcpr.com. Prices $35.00, $25.00, $12.00.

Cotto is spending his money the right way. I wonder how big he will become as a promoter especially when he retires and spends most of his time working on his promotion insted of training for a fight. If everything works well Arum and De La Hoya will have some competition.

This is a good Idea for Cotto, he is still young, but in boxing terms, he is getting up there.

He could be a good promoter, and i feel that he is someone who would have his fighters interests at heart.

Great. I wish him the best of luck, hope he doesn't get any brain damage (I've heard some say he might ) and that prevents him from doing what he wants.
