Boxing - Golf? Competition - Apparently?

I heard some1 today compare Boxing to Golf in terms of how exciting it is. I was like . People obviously watch the wrong fights! How can boxing be mentioned in same sentence as Golf. Thats like comparing going on the worlds largest rollercoaster to staying at home and playing scrabble.

Does ne1 put boxing lower than golf in the excitement ratings?

    Top 5 sports.
    -Boxing
-Football (UK - so soccer to most of u i think)
    -Extreme Sports (most)
    -Tennis
    -Cricket

Boxing and golf are both mental sports. I am a golfer myself and I must say when I get a nice hit and hear the crack of the ball or the sound of a good putt, it excites me.

    But watching the two? Noway.

Only when you can drink beer and smoke cigarettes while boxing, will i ever compare the two. One requires you to be an athlete to be good, the other doesnt.

I think boxing is the most exciting overall. American Football second ( when the falcons are playing). Third maybe UFC or PRIDE. All the rest of the sports entertain me but I dont find that exciting.

It all depends. The ruiz-golota hugfest wasn't exciting by any stretch. Watching Jack Nicklaus make a charge on the back 9 at Augusta on the final day to win the Masters at 46 was very exciting. Boxing and golf have different types of excitement. In boxing a fighter can get knocked out in 30 seconds which can be exciting but usually unsatisfying. With golf it is more drawn out.

For the average guy who is out golfing, not much is more exciting than hitting a shot over water and hoping you have enough club in your bag.

it's all a matter of opinion. in the uk fishing is the most popular sport (i know) with more people taking part in it, on an average weekly basis, than any other sport. Those fishers would probably glady watch the fishing channel and would think its exicting. I would find it a good way of getting to sleep so when you ask your question, the answer you;ll get will depend on the person you ask.

btw to put cricket 5th, in my opionion, is an absolute joke.

golf is fun and boxing is too, but I would not be able to watch golf on tv, there are some boxing fights not worth watching on the other hand most of them are great
