The Fact Mayweather requested a rematch clause tells me...

he has a lot of respect for Mosley and his ability. This coming from a man who believe he's the greatest of all time. I'm glad and I hope Mayweather is even more focused on defeating his opponent this time around. PBF usually gives 110%, I hope to see 150+.

Lets not forget that Oscar De La Hoya actually beat Floyd on one of the judges scorecard. I believe that's why Floyd has that rematch clause in the contract with Mosley (just in case)...

He has this clause for a lot of fights. He just has good lawyers.

this is true..Ive been saying this since day 1..he respects Mosley in the ring.
Roger even said Mosley was a tougher opponent than Pac..Floyd didnt even try to request a rematch clause for Pac fight..but does for Mosley..which says one thing..I still think Floyd will win via UD..cant wait for the show down

Honestly, I don't think it really holds any deep meaning - as far as I understand it's basically standard procedure when there's this much at stake in boxing.

Also I think lawyers, promoters and managers would have drawn up the contract and all it's stipulations - all Floyd would have had to do was sign on the dotted line.

Mayweather always seems to pay his opponents due respect in relation to his preparation and focus on the fight, so I don't think there was ever a danger of him underestimating Shane and being unaware of what he was going to be up against.

Nah, thats a little different I think. You cant request a rematch clause unless you have the upper hand. Why would Pac or Floyd give eachother a rematch clause? You can only request that if you have the upper hand.

I dont think Floyd has the clause because he has any fear of losing to Shane. I think he has the clause because anything can happened and he doesnt want Shane to get the big money fight with Pac 1st. What if everyone pretty much saw Floyd winning 8-4 but the judges gave Shane a split decision one point victory? Then he goes and fights Pac next while Floyd is out the loop. What if Shane butts Floyd early but the ref didnt see it and ruled it a punch. The fight gets stopped later because Floyd cant continue with a nasty cut and its an automatic Shane win. Now he gets to Pac 1st

True maybe I am reading too much into it, but I do think Mayweather has a good amount of respect for Mosley. Mayweather always talks **** about his opponent before the fight, and always trains for the best and most times I think he knows he can win, with Mosley I think he know's as well but he also knows he's going to have to work hard for it, Mosley's no push over and he always fights hard.

I think this is going to be a great fight. Can't wait.

You can request a rematch clause regardless of who has the upper hand..may not be agreed to..but it can be requested..
I think Floyd respects Mosley more in the ring..I also think Mosley is a harder fight than Pac..Floyd's team also agrees on that..
dont get me wrong..Floyd will win this..hes more skilled..but this will be tough..and as you say anything can happen..
