Floyd just met his match, someone who he couldn't bully around thinking they want a big payday.
If Mayweather really did want to fight Pac then why............

I see a lot of people saying this. I dont get how at this stage people still think this was a last second request when all tge info has been rehashed so many times.Comment

The reason i brought it up is because when watching the ESPN telecast of Brinkley vs Stevens it was brought up and put across that everything was agreed then the subject of drug testing is eventually what stopped it happening.Comment

Pacquiao and Roach knew about OSDT during the build up to Pacquiao Cotto. Roach also said he wouldn't have a problem with USADA.Last edited by Doctor_Tenma; 02-03-2010, 01:15 PM.Comment

Mayweather ducking Pac is old news dude. Get with the program, son! He's ducking Shane now!If Mayweather really did want to fight Pac then why did he wait till negotiations were almost complete before mentioning the drugs test ?
If this drugs test was such a trivial thing for Mayweather then why sit back and wait for everyone to agree and then at the last min drop this bomb shell into the negotiations? we know its a trivial thing for Mayweather because he does not want the fight if Pac does not submit to the drug taking, so if he really wanted the fight fight how come he did not say from the off that, before we start im gonna let it be known that under no!!! circumstances am i going to fight Pac unless he takes a drug test ?
You could argue that Mayweather assumed Pac would think nothing of submitting to them terms because of the money on offer, but because its such and unprecedented thing to do there is no telling how someone would react to that kinda proposal, not to mention that your trying to insult the person by insinuating there a drugs cheat.
If Mayweather had intentions to fight Pac he would of come out and said straight off the bat that he will only! fight Pac if he takes drugs tests, he knows its such an unprecedented thing to do and that is vital to the progression of the fight so why wait?Comment

Its strange though because this was mentioned by all parties from the start. I have seen a few posters ask why this was asked for at the last second several times. Its a bit surprising is all.Comment

“It seems patently obvious to me that Floyd and his minions killed the Pacquiao fight. The bottom line is that the fight was basically a done deal before they decided to inject the demands for blood testing into the picture. Pure and simple, Golden Boy and Floyd and his advisers created the problem, and it ended up killing the fight.”
-Al Bernstein, Showtime Boxing Analyst
"Mayweather shouldn't be making accusations without a shred of proof as he tries to discredit all of Pacquiao's great accomplishments, nor should he try to circumvent the Nevada rules by asking for blood tests when the commission has never asked for them."
- Dan Rafael from ESPN
"There were times during the past month when the conduct of Team Mayweather had the look of an effort to sabotage the fight. A negotiator who wants to make a deal doesn’t go out of his way to antagonize and publicly embarrass the other side. But that’s what the Mayweathers and Golden Boy did."

The thing with Floyd is when he was negotiating with Pacquiao, why didn't he bring up the Olympic-style drug testing issue EARLY ON in the negotiations???
The fight was pretty much a done deal in all other aspects, when he suddenly pulled a rabbit out of his hat with this drug testing thing?
That's why most boxing experts/insiders are su****ious that Floyd never really wanted the fight.Comment
