When Floyd was lineal, marg and cotto stars were shining its brightest then that people are demanding the WW champion to step up to the challenge of those 2. But Floyd retired. So, the top 3 remaining contenders beat each other and again the WW claim was muddy.

What is your definition of "clean up the division"?
To me cleaning up means beating the best in the division when they're in their prime and being the undisputed champ in the division.

Why should Manny get credit for cleaning up the division when he didn't beat Cotto, Margacheato, and the other guys when they were in the prime and be the champ at 147?

Are people going to say Floyd cleaned up the division if he beats Mosley and Manny? No because people are going to still say he ducked Cotto, Margacheato, and the other guys in their prime.

Hatton was never the same after his fight with Floyd, Cotto was never the same mentally after his fight with Margacheato, and Manny made him come down to 145. Clottey is not very good and DLH was way past his prime. The guy killed himself making weight.

Why does Freddy Roach always have something negative to say about Manny's opponents? Why did Roach turned down the opportunity to fight Mosley twice when the guy was begging him for a fight with Manny?

      Mosley: I want Manny.

      Roach: No, you're too good.

      Mosley:

Yes. Clearly those are the top 3 now. Unless Clottey throws a monkey wrench which is very possible. This is where I disagree with your definition because you would not always have prime because it is more subjective than rankings.

The bold part is true but Floyd is not blame free here. I don't blame his retirement because it is his right. But if he had only took the winner of Cotto-marg fight, that would have silenced a whole lot of people. Not all because all successful persons have haters one way or another. That is the past though. And he is not going to change it. But he could learn from it and take on the best challenges now.

Those are the top 3 guys, but Manny is the only guy in his prime or close to his prime. Mosley is not anywhere near his prime and Floyd was a beast at 135.

Floyd and Arum should get the blame for him not fighting the top WW a few years ago.

If Floyd beats the top 5 ranked WW in the next two years are people going to say he cleaned up the division?

Like I said the bolded part is where is have difference. My reasons are it is more subjective than reputable boxing rankings. Yeah, Arum also gets some of the blame. I'm just saying Floyd is not blame free for those fights not happening.

The sensible one would say yes that is for sure. On these boards though, they are way outnumbered. . That is why I often just listen to the sensible ones to learn some stuff because I'm relatively just a newbie. I sometimes ask Crold just for some history. Great writer and always answers.

Trust me, Floyd will wait for Pacquiao to beat Clottey, Margarito and Mosley so once he gets an opportunity he will drop his demands and fight a battle worn out Pacquiao.

Imagine for 6 years you only fought Baldomir and waited everyone to lose.
Yep, then he'll whoop Pac's little ***** punk ass and take out three birds with one stone. Thats how you do it.
