Comments Thread For: Cotto vs. Foreman May Be Finalized Soon, Hopes Arum

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum plans to speak with Miguel Cotto this week to possibly finalize a fight with unbeaten WBA junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman for June 12 in Madison Square Garden in New York. Arum plans to resume the negotiations once he returns from Mexico, where he plans to continue promoting the March 13 Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey pay-per-view. [Click Here To Read More]

1st 6 months this year looks to have a pretty decent billing of fights and hopefully this cotto fight ,if gets signed , would be a nice ending to the 1st half of the year.looking forward to this fight and would be great if he can get it together, if not he needs To make good on his pre retirement talk to retire if he gets knocked around again.

Why does Bob Arum insists that the boxing world is intrested in seeing Yuri Foreman vs popular guy?

i would love to see cotto fight hatton. NIce lil slaughter before the puerto rican day parade. And two i'm going to the fight so I would love to experience the atmosphere with the cotto fans and the hatton fans. There would be some fights in the garden that night. lol, Just rerember when the clottey fans were getting beat down in the upper section during the cotto. fight. Bad night for a clottey fan your guy loss and if it wasn't u it was the guy next to you getting his ass handed to him lol. WAR COTTO

How do you think unpopular guys get made popular. You need to put them against someone who is popular. No one will ever know who Foreman is if he faces Mr nobody down the road.

Foreman is gonna box circles around a frustrated Cotto. Mark my words. Cotto is shot, Foreman is underrated. He's not great but he's good enough to beat a shot Cotto that is still bruised from plaster & a Pacquiao beating.

he doesn't have enough pop on his punches and cotto can still cut off a ring.

i used to think that but he did seem to stun santos a couple of times so maybe his power isnt as bad as his ko ratio shows. m cotto in his prime would most likely destroy a fighter like foreman but after the margs and pac losses and the amount of tough fights cotto has been in im not so sure that he is the same fighter he once was mentally and physically and foreman although not a great fighter is solid and the taller man should be an interesting fight.
