he didn't cheat anyone...once he came in...he weighed over...marquez said he still wanted to fight...floyd payed him $600k...marquez agreed and got his ass whooped...
So how is floyd going to change boxing when he cheated JMM 2lbs at the weight in?

in a sport as complicated as boxing it may not be as bad as loaded gloves or steroids but it's still the equivalent of cheating. Weightclasses exist for a reason. Marquez was already giving up 15lbs to begin with. Floyd decides to add another 2 just for good measure.
It's like playing chess and marquez only had pawns while floyd had all his tools at his disposal.Comment

So what. Then JMM shouldve canceled the fight.in a sport as complicated as boxing it may not be as bad as loaded gloves or steroids but it's still the equivalent of cheating. not just 600k. Marquez cancels and loses his entire purse because there is no fight for him to be paid for. And he also would have to answer to the thousands of angry fans who paid good money to see a fight who wouldnt get one.Comment

but the penalty was in place...and marquez was still given the option...it's not even close to being the same thing as cheating...two pounds is not enough to make that much of a difference...floyd does not rehydrate by that much...they probably weighed within 3 or 4 pounds of each other (if not less) on fight night...people want to say it wasn't fair...he basically gave marquez an over 50% boost on his purse for the match...it was all up to him and he made the decision...you really can't blame floyd at all...you could blame him if the fight didn't happen...but it's like signing a waiver...after that's signed...you're on your own...no liability on the party you signed with...fight at your own risk...no one has that opportunity with loaded gloves...that is attempted murder...weight classes are weight classes...but if the fighters agree...that line can easily be manipulated...in a sport as complicated as boxing it may not be as bad as loaded gloves or steroids but it's still the equivalent of cheating.
