Johnson is a top-ten lightheavy (ranked #3 by Ring coming into the fight actually) but I still think that Tarver would win the fight. Unlike Jones, Tarver has a very good jab which would prevent Johnson from trying to bull him into the corner as he did Roy- this fight is probably the best at lightheavy but Tarver's big paycheck went down with Roy.

That's number three as in Tarver was champ, RJJ 1, Erdei 2, and Johnson 3 right?

I actually like Johnson's nice boy persona. Too much of tehse trash talkers out there. A humble champ? Now THAT'S different.

Yeah, Johnson was the third ranked contender, Tarver is the champ.

Johnson did KO Jones, but remember he's lost 9 of 18 or so...

i still think tarver is a better fighter (and will win), even though his jones win doesn't seem like as big of a deal now

Tarver is definitely the bigger puncher, he can take Johnson out at any point in the fight, if Johnson makes it easy for him. i like Johnson, the fact that he's humble impresses the hell out of me

I'll be watching it when and if it takes place. I give the edge to Tarver on this one though. This would be a great fight for real boxing fans but as we all know the big money fights are what we get.
