...away from the champ.
What a load of nonsense.
Sure, Dirrell ****ed up by realising too late in the fight the gigantic athletic and skill advantages he had over Froch, and he should have really put some hurt on him sooner....
But this idea that he had to do so much more because he was in Carl's hometown; what crap.
A fight is judged on a round-by-round basis - judges don't sit around and at the end muse that overall Dirrell didn't do enough. You don't judge a fight by the feeling that you had at the end of it, like most of the people on here who think Carl won seem to have done.
It is round-by-round - and on that basis, Dirrell did more nearly every single round.
Someone else made a great point which I can't take credit for but will repeat - those who think Carl won all point out that Dirrell didn't do enough.
Well, what did Carl do?
**** all, let's be honest.
I can't bring myself to count this as a win for Carl. I know the record books will show an impressive winning streak of Pascal, Taylor and Dirrell - but I'm not having that. I was discussing Froch's resume with someone, and I just don't classify Dirrell as a win for him. To say so would be a lie.
And anyone who think Froch won that fight is either completely clueless or a nuthugger. Take your pick.
