Dirrell had two or three sketchy rounds in the middle, and overall fought a negative fight, but he completely nullified Froch and in a fair world should have been the clear winner at the end of the night.

Dirrell landed more punches than Froch in every single round. This is an undeniable fact. He also showed the better defense and ring generalship by basically making Froch look like an untrained amatuer. You can literally count the amount of significant punches Froch landed on one hand. And that's just embarrassing.

In regards to Dirrell's excessive spoiling, I think a point deduction is reasonable. But I also think that the referee should have been more consistent and also punished Froch for repeatedly fouling Dirrell.

At the end of the day, Dirrell didn't fight a particularly great fight, and if Froch had any skill he'd have cut the ring off and beaten Dirrell who clearly has no inside game. But instead Froch was happy to gormlessly plod forward all night only to set his feet once he reached middle distance, the perfect range for Dirrell to tee off on him.

The decision was a disgrace.
