Can someone explain David Tua to me?

I haven't followed his career at all, but I see his record on Boxrec as 50-3 with 43 KOs and wins of Rahman and Ruiz.

Why is this guy not a bigger force in the HW division? What the hell happened?

Management problems and lack of dedication is what happened. He could still be a force, provided that he gets fights against the top fighters in the division.

After he got jobbed against Ike his career turned for the worst. Plus, he just not good enough to beat the best.

He was clearly outclassed against Lennox in the most boring fight ever.

the prime of his career was spent removing Lennox's jabprint off his forehead

followed by court battles with his promoter

He got schooled by Lennox Lewis and never got another chance to fight for a world title. With that said he got also schooled by an out of shape Rahman in their rematch. Tua is good but overrated.

                Not bothering?

No one wants to fight him.

                High risk low reward.

I'm sure if they offered him a fight he'd take it in an instant.
