Thing is, I dont think Pac can hurt Clottey, but I dont believe the judges are going to give Clottey any rounds. Pac will throw, Clottey will block, and thats that.
Maybe because its no where as near as exciting as watching a fight we all hoped that was gonna happen on this date...Floyd Vs Pac
of course, it's a letdown, being that everybody was expecting something else on march 13th....but let's not kid ourselves, joshua clottey is just not an interesting fight.
there are other people, had they been picked, that would've made for an interesting 13th, so the lack of buzz stems moreso from the fact that pacquiao-clottey is just not an interesting fight in itself.
idk if its true or not, but i heard HBO isn't even doing a 24/7 for this fight. being that manny is supposed to be a huge superstar, it seems odd....there's just no buzz whatsoever here.
i've given in, since i am a fan of boxing, i'll probably go to a bar to watch this. but just like other boxing matches, i expect the volume to be turned all the way down and the UFC fight on the big screen with the volume up....if there will be a big UFC event that night.
My beef with this fight is the same beef I had with Floyd Mayweather back in 2006 when he was at the peak of his shenanigans. How can you fight the winner and loser of one bout in successive matches (Baldomir & Judah / Cotto & Clottey)? At least Manny fought the loser first but, nevertheless, anyone who expects this to be close is deluding themselves. Maybe the first four rounds.
IMO No hbo cause manny is over exposed and clottey is not interesting enough. They are not the talkative/trash talker types. Not to mention both can't talk good English. That would be an hbo suicide. HBO 24/7 should not be the bases for predicting good PPV ratings.
