Oscar made Floyd come to 147 to fight him. Oscar made Shane come to 147 to fight him. Also, Hatton wanted the fight at 147. IT HAPPENS. Besides, its not the first time nor last time, a champion has made someone come to his weight class to fight him for HIS title.

However, Hatton's trainer Billy Graham says his fighter will have no difficulties in moving up from his natural division, despite struggling to victory in his only fight at that weight of his career against Luis Collazo.

"The fight against Collazo was taken reluctantly and without proper time to prepare," Graham told BBC Sport, "but this time we have plenty of notice.

"We will do things differently and it won't be a problem at all.
    furthermore....

"I've always said Ricky wasn't a welterweight and I wasn't interested in going back up to that division unless it was [against] Floyd because he's not such a big guy," added Graham.

Clotteys low punch output may get him knocked out because isnt going to stop throwing, but Clotteys defense may allow him to last al 12.

Roach is such a jackass. If "size doesnt win fights", then why make Cotto drop to 145??

Seriously, Clottey is a b- or b class fighter at best. I seriously EXPECT Clottey to be knocked out in 4 rounds, if not then it's really bad!

Seems to me that Freddie Roach is building Pac resume up with
guys that they know he can beat. The only fighter Roach wasn't
sure of was Floyd and guess what? Fight didn't happen. Anymore
evidence needed or should I expect Pac fans and supporters to
curse me out for saying that?

I guess the monster streak will continue if Roach says so. But then, this will be Pacquiao's first legit opponent since Marquez to have never been stopped before. Most of us objective folks all had a feeling that De La Hoya, Hatton and Cotto would get murked by him because they had been thoroughly murked before...

... But Clottey hasn't. It took a sharp jab from Cotto to knock him down for the first time (and even then it was of the flash variety, and he was off-balance), so Pacquiao will have to unleash some hell to make the stubborn Ghanaian quit fighting. Either that, or a dive. :wnk1:

Roach is really talking out his ass now. Maybe he thinks the public is as ****** as he is. He does a lot of double talk

Simple answer for you: to prove it. Also, there is some glory in beating the lineal champ, even if he wasn't elite...Baldo sound familiar?

Nobody thought Pac would do to what he did to Hatton. Sure he was the betting fav but among boxing fans/experts it was still a 50/50 because nobody was sure how Pac would handle 140. Remember, people still thought the DLH was a fluke at that time.
