Shane's Over Confidence Will Be His Downfall

I truly believe that the #1 reason Shane is going to lose this fight is because of him being too confident but it wont really affect the fight. Most times when you talk about stuff like this, you are talking about a guy changing the way he fights or throwing out the game plan because he believes his opponent is inferior or he can beat him at his own game or whatever. I dont think that will happened here. I think Shane truly will follow ****m's game plan and he wont do anything that he normally wouldnt do. However, where it will affect him is mentally. It could come right off the bat, it come come like between the 4-6 rounds or it could come around the 8th round but at one of those points in the fight, Shane will realize that Floyd is the real deal and then the fight will be over. He will get dominated after that.

I say this because Shane is genuinely sure that he is better than Floyd. Its not fake. I think he looks at Floyd and thinks that he's too small and he can break him in half. He feels that Floyd doesnt let his hands go enough to beat him and doesnt have any kind of power to keep him off of him. You also have to remember that 10yrs ago he was seen as the clear better fighter so to him Floyd is like a little kid that cant come pass him. He has in his mind that Floyd is the little guy always a weight class or more lower, younger, and was always under him in some way. He thinks he is actually faster than Floyd, stronger, the harder puncher, has the better chin, is better coached, has more experince, has fought the better guys, has fought the bigger stronger guys while Floyd just got finshed fighting JMM, and he just feels that Floyd is solid but alot of hype.

That will be his downfall big time. Again, at one of those points in the fight when he sees that Floyd is faster, floyd is blocking alot of his shots which he said Floyd wouldnt be able to do because he is just as fast. When Floyd is countering, landing pin point shots, is much stronger than he expected, is easily taking the few clean shots that Shane does land, and he realizes that Floyd is genuinely the better fighter in damn near every way, then Shane will go in the tank and its over. Every thing Naz taught him will be out the window as he reverts back to what he's comfortable with and Floyd is easily out smarting him in every situation. On the flip side Floyd will realize that every small worry he had about Shane's size & strength is a non worry as he isnt phased at all so his confidence will grow and it will be one sided. One thing I do know is that from the 8th on, Floyd will sweep those rounds and dominate that fight so Shane better do great before then

I agree with most of the TS post, but I can't say that Floyd will dominate Shane. I will say that Shane does seem extremely confident, which is fine, but he better be careful. When Seckbach asked him how he was going to break through Floyd's defense, he stated that he was just as fast as Floyd, like it was going to be very simple. Zab is faster than Floyd or Shane, and he couldn't do **** (and he was a southpaw!). I look forward to a highly competitive fight.

I don't know why some people are thinking that Shane is overlooking Floyd or something. Just like Shane said he was gonna KO Margs, he did it when other guys were afraid to even step in the ring with him. Not saying Mosley is gonna KO Floyd or anything but I don't think he is underestimating Floyd in any way. It is just a mental thing like how Floyd says that he can't be touched by any fighter out there on any level- just confidence.

I think he knows that Floyd is a little worried about this fight because Shane does have REAL power and is a bigger guy than Floyd is so the extra smack talk may be an attempt to bother Floyd.

I agree Shane seems to be very confident but at the same time Floyd doesn't seem as confident as he normally is. This is why he is insisting on a rematch clause as well as 10oz gloves. I think Shane will suprise alot of people on May 1st. There is no way he gets dominated in this fight, and he will not be knocked out. Foyd is a great fighter but he can only really fight one type of fight, thus far it has worked for him but he hasn't fought an animal like Shane before. Shane has been in every type of fight technical, brawls, in close and counter punching. Floyd has never done that he fights one type of fight against guys he can impose his style on. I see Shane pressuring Floyd hard for most of the fight and going for a knock out which is entirely possible, or Floyd beats him on points. This version of Shane is still better than the DLH version Floyd fought.

I think it will happen the way most of Floyd's foes lose. Except this one will be as high speed a chess match as you can get. Shane can and will be hit. Floyd will be using all the skills he has to keep Shane off of him and when he adjusts and gets to figuring out Shane's plan A and plan B he will start tagging him.

I was just thinking this, Shane does talk like he's got Floyd's number, I think he's going to get embarassed and exposed on May 1.
