It could have been Mayweather-Judah II or even Mayweather-Alvarez, that would have been a lot worse than a Mosley fight.

I can't wait for Mayweather-Mosley.. It's gonna be one hell of a fight.
I'm looking forward to it too.

And you're right, it could have been worse. Floyd could have fought Ivan Calderon, making him move up to welterweight for the fight, like he did JM Marquez.

Did Mayweather want Shane to be a few years older before facing him? I think Floyd is reluctant to fight Shane even now.
Why did Shane duck Mayweather in 1999 and 2005/2006?

          You have it wrong.

Floyd ducked Shane, who called him out after the Collazo fight.

                C. Mayweather fighting Mosley now is a lot better then Mayweather fighting Mosley in 2007:

Mayweather fighting Hatton was a lot better fight at the time. Hatton was undefeated, presented challenges that Mayweather apparently hadn't seen before, and Mosley with a win over Collazo wasn't enough to demand a fight with Floyd. It would look worse for Floyd if he had fought "another old guy" then the undefeated and on the pound for pound list challenger.

Now maybe if Mosley had beat Cotto, then he should have. My number one problem with Mayweather's career is he skipped out a Cotto fight. He should have fought Cotto, who was his number one challenger, but it ended up all working out.

Mosley at 38, doesn't look that different from when he did with Cotto, except probably better strategy wise with ****m Richardson in his corner. Now is the time for Mosley Mayweather to happen and I'm so excited it is.
                From this thread: http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...90#post7427790

If you would have made a poll back in 2007, "who do you want to see Mayweather fight more, Hatton or Mosley?" Hatton would have won that poll. Hatton was undefeated, a member of the pound for pound list (which Mosley wasn't back in 2007), and everyone thought he had the style to give floyd a tough fight. If Mayweather had fought Mosley right after DLH, it would be looked upon as "fighting another old guy" back to back.

Everyone demanded Mayweather fight a prime fighter at the time and that was Hatton (and no not Cotto. Cotto had only beat Judah at the time, literally days before Hatton Mayweather was signed. Cotto was not an option at the time. Mayweather should have fought Cotto after Mosley Cotto).

Well, there's always Paul Williams, who's in his prime.

But although Floyd has fought many smaller, older opponents like Marquez, he'll NEVER fight a younger, bigger man than himself.
