i respect him too, but you can't say that floyd beating marquez (at 147) and mosley is more significant than pacquiao beating hatton, cotto, and clottey

i'd give tons of credit to floyd for beating mosley, but he doesn't deserve being p4p #1 for that
Good points! Both fighters winning would give even greater significance to them fighting each other. I think the hype would be even greater than it would have been in march if anyone thought that was possible. All the drama will draw even more fans in.

Floyd beat Hatton first. A Mosley win is more creditable than
a Cotto and Clottey win because Mosley is #1 at 147.

he beat him first at 147, where collazo had already tapped that ass. he just couldn't compete at WW and it was already obvious. pac did him in 2 rounds at his comfortable weight.

cotto and clottey are #2 and #3 at WW, and some people argued that cotto was really #1 after beating clottey. add to that a year and a half inactivity period

i don't understand that logic anyway. beating the #1 seed is more significant than say beating 2 younger, fresher, and more active opponents, them being a guy that beat that #1 previously and the other being a guy that game hell to the man who beat the #1 WW?

don't forget how mosley became the #1 WW either
