There are far too many people choosing sides here, Floyd is wrong plain and simple. I'm a Floyd fan but I'm also a boxing fan. Floyd came out of nowhere wit his demands and his talks of cleaning up the sport. Where was this talk when he was fighting Hatton, JMM, and Dela Hoya. Manny was right to not take the test. Its not a point of right and wrong, its principle.

For Example: if a black man working at a law firm get promoted to partner, but one of the other partners, who is white, believes he only got promoted because he is black and insist that the black man take the bar exam over to prove he is really a lawyer, does the black man take the test to prove him wrong? NO. he sues his ass just as Manny did.

Now I'm not a Floyd hater, I in fact thinks he beat Manny with his reach and defense, but he is wrong to expect someone to go with what he wants because he says so.

Enough of the Floyd, Manny articles. The fight isn't happening right now. We have two other fights coming up, lets focus on that.

1) Pacquiao just named the Boxing Writers America's Association/BWAA as the top boxer of 2009 (3rd time)

2) Pacquiao just named the BWAA top boxer for the Decade

3) Pacquiao continues to the be P4P no. 1 in almost all of the top media organizations from ESPN, Ring Magazine/TV, Yahoo, etc

4) Pacquiao's fight with the little known Clottey (a very good welterweight boxer) is doing very well in ticket sales, much to the chagrin of Pac haters.

So, you now have Pacquiao 4 to Mayweather 2. So, don't get too cute over there Cliff . . it does not look good to your readers or fans, you are losing much of your luster.

The Manny Clottey fight may do well, i dont doubt it, but it will not do as well as Money and Sugar at the box office.
The bout between Money and Shane is a much better fight and will go a long way to determine who is on top and who is looking up at him.
Remember Money didnt lose his belt he retired, Manny is the Catch weight Champ. But this is the first time he is defending his belt at the prescribed weight. We will see what he is really made of, and if he wins which i doubt we will see whats up.

He's in a situation that he cannot dodge again or people will notice his dancing skirt. He run out of excuses with Mosley. He has to fight Mosley whether he likes or not. He dodge Pacquiao to be cornered by Mosley. Good for Mosley, remember he wants to fight Pacquiao anytime, anywhwere because of huge money he can get out of it. Floyds first choice of opponent was pacquiao, but pacman rejected the fight, therefore shane was floyds second choice. Mayweather wins by UD

Shane mosley sat in RICKY Shafe's office and was asked by Oscar and Richard if he wanted to fight floyd he said NO. this has been published on this very site. He turned down a fight in 2006 as well and was even asked if he would fight floyd and he said he had a tooth ache

Mayweather Challenged Mosley 3x and the only time Mosley challenged Floyd was in sept after the fight and while floyd was taking a break he was screamin he wanted to fight the guy he refused to fight befor he retired.

Mayweather is now fighting a man the Pac refused to fight and who refused to fight him.....hmm

Mayweather Turned down a fight with Tony Margie the cheater

Cotto and Hatton both watched Mayweather destroy the late Arturo Gatti. Hatton was comentating for BBC.

Hatton was 140 Linear champ. Did he call Floyd out in his class nope. He waited till floyd was liener 147 champs so if he lost he could still keep his 140 title.

I don't see how any of these things mean much in the scope of what this piece was discussing. I'm aware of the honors Pac has received and had the privilege to cast my vote for him in both BWAA categories as well as for the honors here at this site. I have him atop our P4P ratings as well.

However, the P4P stuff, the awards, all that stuff was based on things that happened before all the BS going on now.

And I don't know who ever thought Clottey wouldn't sell tickets. Pac is a draw; he'll draw no matter who he is fighting. Mosley-Mayweather, in PPV terms, will draw more and sell a ton of tickets too.
