    What just happened in Sylvester-Lyell?

Fight seemed to be reasonably competitive. I don't understand why Jack Lowe threw in the towel, that's not fair to his fighter, who was clearly giving it his all...

At first I thought it was a too-quick stoppage, but on the replay I saw Jack Loew with the towel.

I thought Lyell wasn't doing too badly.

not a great fighter, but he won at least 3 or 4 rounds on activity. He deserved to have it go to the scorecards, would have been a more respectable ending. Probably a 117-111, 116-112 type UD Sylvester that could keep him in the rankings.

Punchstat showed that Lyell landed 34 punches. Sylvester I think landed some 150+

Maybe you guys watched a crappy stream?

That's helpful information. Sylvester will drill Karmazin in his next defense. What a joke of a mandatory by the IBF

No, Karmazin is a very good old pro and has earned his title shot, which will give him a final decent payday to retire on.

When I found the stream it was already round six. The commentators were saying something to the effect that Sylvester had a wide lead, but Lyell fought hard and landed a few in the rounds I watched.

Good effort by Lyell, but he's rather small for middleweight and can't compete at the highest level.
