Johnny Nelson is the 2nd highest ranked Cruiserweight, just behind McCormeck, and has defended the WBO Cruiserweight belt twelve times after winning it six years ago. Opponents include Carl Thompson, Ezra Sellers and Adam Watt.
Anyway, here's Johnny on a hypothetical match-up between the two Ts at heavyweight:
[Being shown a top ten board that features Brewster, Byrd, Vitali, Rahman, Sanders, McCline, Ruiz and Mesi along with Toney, and asked if there's one Tyson shouldn't face]:
"The only one fighter I can put my finger on is James Toney. Because he's got fast hands, he's got movement. And he's got good, good pedigree. He's the sort of guy I'd say stay away from, as he may be a little too busy for you. He may make you work at a pace you don't wanna work at."
I just came across it on one of my old tapes, when I was looking for something. This was from last year, the evening when he fought Williams. Barry McGuigan was next to Nelson, making agreeing noises.
