And Hopkins is better than I thought (at least right now), I'd say he's still easily one of the top 3-4 fighters in the world and would beat Chad Dawson at 175.

The Calzaghe-Hopkins fight was much closer than I remembered.

Its a shame that Hopkins isn't as confident about that as you are.

Every time I watch that fight Calzaghe always loses 114-113.

I don't bother rewatching Hopkins-Calzaghe, very close, very messy at times and difficult to watch. I never properly scored it but I remember thinking it was a close one and could have been scored a draw.

lol depends how you score rounds, I think Calzaghe won on workrate but a lot of the rounds were 50/50

When I look for punches that land they are few and far between for Calzaghe. Hopkins faded late which gave Joe the edge with the judges.

I'll say Hopkins fought his fight far better than Joe fought his and at times made Joe look very bad and limited his punch out put a huge amount but even then I don't think he threw enough to win the rounds late, I think Calzaghed pulled it off in the last 2 rounds.

I agree, Hopkins threw it away last 2 rounds for me. Maybe the constant pressure, having to feint and retreat for 12 rounds caught up with him, he was 43 after all.
