"Boxing is a sport", "no, its not, boxing is a business"

Sorry guys, you can't have it both ways when it suits your agenda.

One on hand, whenever there is a fight that somehow doesn't get made, even though the boxing fans want it,

"boxing is a business. You don't understand how these things work and all fights don't happen just because you want them to".

On the other hand, when it comes time to appreciate a certain style of fighting, you know, those who are more technical in their approach as opposed to outright brawling, suddenly, the mantra changes from,

    "boxing is a business"

    to

"boxing is a sport, not a violent exchange between to rock em' sock em' robots. If you want to see wild exchanges with no technique, go watch UFC".

You guys flip flop more than chanclas during the summer.

How hard is it for you to understand that this sport has always had to maintain a quandry of both sport and buisness in order to attract fans and to attract casuals alike.

Earner, who works for this site and within the industry did a great job of illustrating this point for you and yet, you are either too dumb or just refuse to understand that both are and always be a critical part to how this sport works.

If promoters years ago would have treated their fighters with respect 70 years ago, leaving fighters with nothing while having fought their asses off sometimes 15 times in a year, you wouldnt see fighters angling for as much money as possible.

Im sure you know that Ray Robinson would often threaten to pull out of fights often times on the night of the fight if he didint get his purse.

There was also a french boxer, i cannot recall his name, but he fought in ireland and he was so afriad that he wouldnt get paid that he hid his money in his shorts because he knew hed either get robbed or not paid. He did this DURING THE FIGHT.

Again, you make another topic to which someone else already sonned youre sorry ass and you come crying and whining about some inane point which only amounts to either youre lack of historical knowedlege on how this sport works, or an illustration of youre own ******ity.

Either way, my point is...Youre a ****in idiot. You say you been watching 25 years, yet you know **** all about the history of the sport, and you provide very little insight other than these bull**** trolling posts.

We are fans. From our perspective, boxing is a sport. if any of us posting here worked within the boxing world for a fighter's team, then we would ne proper to look at boxing as a business. But I'd think that's untrue of 99% of posters on here. We are all conscious of the fact that boxers themselves see it as a business. But we don't need to obsess over that **** ourselves.

Boxing is a sport but just about every pro sport is a business... NBA, NFL, MLB, etc. I mean prime example the Dallas stadium which deals mainly with the NFL is being used for Boxing match on a business level

So, whos more of an idiot,

              me for making this post,

or you, for having me on ignore, claiming I'm an idiot, and then coming in here to read the supposed idiots posts?

We get it, you don't like me.

              Yay!

But why keep coming into my threads and responding to my posts? I'm still not clear as to why you keep devaluing my insight as a poster,

but continue to keep reading what I say?

I'm not fond of Horus, Burner, Al Haymons, Imhotep, etc posts or threads,

so I don't go in their threads, read their posts, or even reply to them.

Can you reasonably explain why you claim I'm an idiot that you have on ignore,

              but keep reading me?

Btw mija, I've already said that boxing is a sport with a business side.

You're just too upset to realize that this thread was made for the guy who flip flop on their positions depending on what the topic is about.

              Clearly you couldn't understand that.

But again, please do tell what gets you all warm and fuzzy about a poster you claim as

              a. an idiot
              b. non knowledgable
              c. a troll
              d. have on ignore

Its really funny that you keep responding to my posts though.

Boxing is also entertainment, and watching runners isn't entertaining. Who is enthused by the idea of Floyd v Paulie for example? it's always the come-forward fighter who makes the fight exciting and worth watching.

The thread about appreciating "boxers" is what prompted me to make this thread.

Some of the same people in that particular thread claiming "boxing is a sport", to support why they like certain fighters,

will say in other threads, "boxing is a business" to support why those certain fighters don't make certain fights.

                  Its comical really.

Its a sport with a business side...I mean no one goes into this just to fight except maybe as an amateur......

On a good note these days fighters are getting screwed over less showing that they are becoming smarter on the business aspect...That helps greatly for when they retire and need top venture to other things...

Back in the day guys made what they made and usually found out before it was too late they were broke and had no idea on what to do next
