Same reason there was no Pea or Ike rematch.

    Oscar didn't want any more.

      BS !!

Oscar wanted the rematch but Tito didnt agree on the purse split. He wanted a bigger split than last time but Oscar wanted the exact same purse split.

Oscar didn't want it. If he did, he would have done it.

I don't think he ducked a Whitaker rematch but a Quartey, yea. But who else fought Quartey at WW??

DLH wanted the rematch but it didn't happen for a variety of reasons, Trinidad moving up in weight had something to do with it and Trinidad not budging on wanting a bigger piece of the pie didn't help either.

honestly, Tito deserve a bigger purse if they had a rematch then.. so basically, Oscar was asking for a rematch, but can't give up who should get the bigger credit... ahhh.. so back then he was also contradicting himself.. LOL.

Oscar knew he couldn't fight the same way the second fight, because everybody called him on his cowardly tactics. Unfortunately, that's the only way he could fight without getting knocked the **** out by Tito (over a 12 round period). It was a lose-lose situation for him, in my opinion.

there was no rematch with tito because don king knew oscar would've gotten well deserved decision the second time around, he knew oscar beat him and he didnt want to blemish his prized possession.......there was a 10million rematch on deck but it did not come to fruition

Tito has stated plenty of times that all De la Hoya had to do was switch the names on the original contract which was like 60-40 in De la Hoya's favor. Since he won he felt that was fair. It was that simple. Oscar wasn't feeling that.
