    Bowe Making A Comeback

Rid**** Bowe, the 42-year-old former two-time world heavyweight champion, wants to return to action as quickly as possible and has Juan Carlos Gomez, who is expected to fight in Hamburg in March, in his sights. “I want to get back in the ring as soon as I can and Gomez would be a good fight for me,” says Bowe from his Maryland home. “He already fought Vitali Klitschko and now it’s his last chance to prove he belongs with real world class. I’m even ready to come to Germany for him if that’s what he wants. My legal advisor in Germany, Roman Kolaczek, is ready to set it up for me.” Gomez is under contract with Arena Box-Promotion who recently agreed a contract with the German broadcaster Sat1.

Who knows in todays heavyweight division maybe he will shock people i severly doubt it though.

he should stay retired. Bowe is one of the greatest heavyweights ever. He had the potential to maybe be the best.

but i thing its game over, and hes weight destroyed hes career.

I use to live right by him and I still live not far from him. It seemed like everytime I went to Safeway, he was there, lol. He needs to stop though because he's going to get hurt, bad. He cant even talk good anymore

Its a little too late, I hate to see older fighters get sonned by someone they would have easily beaten prime for prime.

I think we will all remember that great trilogy with Holyfield that he had.

I'm with ya'. If he was 30% of his former self, he'd unify the division. But he's not.

It's sad that boxing's heavyweight division is in such shambles that every old heavyweight who ever had any success is talking about a comeback... but then they get beat by some middle of the road heavyweight fighter and the whole thing turns out worse.

If Bowe really had it in him, then I'd be glad to see him come back and I'm never one to say when an athlete 'should' retire, but it would be sad to see him get hurt by a guy nobody even knows or cares about.
