Technically yes, when Freddie came out and said that they are campaigning at 147 then that should of broke the lineal claim at 140... but, The Ring still has him as a champ... I don't know why?Comment

It doesn’t happen in every fight card that a boxer’s first professional fight gets coverage in Philboxing. But fight fans old enough to remember the father - who despite having one shorter leg due to childhood polio, won two world titles in two different weights - would be pleased to know that Dodie Boy Peñalosa, Jr. made a smashing pro debut at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City Saturday.
In a six round super bantamweight bout, Peñalosa won by second round knockout over Anthony Balubar. In the opening round the southpaw Peñalosa showed good footwork and power as he scored a knockdown with a counter right hook as Balubar was going in. A two fisted barrage followed when Balubar got up.
In the second round, Balubar collapsed in the neural corner after a series of combinations. Peñalosa celebrated in the opposite corner but Balubar got up. Peñalosa finished the job when he dropped Balubar with a left hook to the liver.
Peñalosa turned to the crowd and raised his hands signaling victory as the referee reached the count of ten at 2:21 of the 2nd. His father Dodie was his cornerman. The elder Peñalosa has said that he doesn’t want to rush things when it comes to his son’s career. But one thing for sure Dodie, Jr. is definitely a prospect to watch.
His uncle Gerry will fight Eric Morel in a WBO bantamweight eliminator next month.
