Donaire was a champion at 112 and was forced to vacate to move up in weight.

Same with Penalosa. champion at 118 and they wouldnt let him fight juanma at 122 unless he vacated.

But neither lost their belt officially so i still consider them both world champions the same way *****s recognize floyd as the real welterweight champion even though he retired.

Penalosa is also fighting for his old 118belt in 2 weeks so it's pretty much a title defense in essence.

This is a great list and a fantastic list of accomplishments, if you think about it, the sport dropped off for about 20 years in the phillipines before being ressurrected almost singlehandedly by one man.

Actually, now that i look it up...Sonsona is the WBO superflyweight champion so that belt is legitimate.

As far as donaire and penalosa....donaire i cant really defend as much because he is either really avoided or really carefully managed. But as far as the issue goes it's not so much the belt that matters but the best fighting the best.

Margarito was forced to vacate his belt in order to fight Miguel Cotto. Did you not consider them both world champions at the time?
