Cotto saying "i'm not ready yet" is more appropriate than Floyd saying and using the excuse of "Cotto lives in Puerto Rico". Why would a boxer fight an opponent that he is not ready to fight, it's quite logical and honest. Just remember that Cotto had fought Mosley already and beat him even though Floyd had moved up to WW before him, Cotto had fought Margarito already, probably the biggest and the most feared WW back then. Cotto convincingly beat and KO Judah. Compare Floyd's fights in the WW division of Judah, Baldomir, and Mitchell to Cotto's WW fights of Judah, Mosley, and Margarito, who do you think had the better and more challenging opponents. You can scratch Judah since they both fought him, but just look at Baldomir and Mitchell and compare those two to Mosley and Margarito. Hands down Cotto had the better and more challenging opponents. So to imply that Cotto was even remotely scared or ducked Floyd is quite ludicrous and unfounded. Cotto is without a doubt one of the few boxers out there along with Mosley who does not fear anyone and will fight anybody.

      Context
      is the key word here.....

Floyd moved to WW and fought Mitchell first. Not a bad first fight. Then he fought and easily beat Judah. now Cotto may have KO'd him but not before having a Miguel cotto moment and being severly wobbled himself. Now keep in mind at this time Cotto is still at 140.

Floyd was roundly criticised for fighting Judah, because he had just lost to the recognised champ in Baldomir. Floyd had no choice to but to fight Baldomir as everyone said he was ducking a big strong welter. Floyd dispatched Baldomir in a boxing clinic and was criticised by the same people who said he was ducking Baldo because he was too big and strong.

It's about this stage people will tell you he ducked Margo......ehh em....excuse me.....who the *** in their right mind would go and fight Margarito for $10mil when they can go and fight the cash cow (who at this time was not floyd or pac....it was oscar) and make $35 mil???? To answer that: No boxer alive today or before would pass up on an extra 25 mil.

Are you following the timeline so far?

Floyd retires after the Oscar fight for over a year. Floyd unretires to fight another cash cow in ?Ricky Hatton. Again there is not a boxer alive who will fight someone else wehn a guy like a delhaoyua or a Hatton is on the table.....they are guaranteed money earners. It is around now people are saying he ducked Cotto to fight Hatton.....pffft...

Floyd retires, this time for over 18 months. Now guess what unretires him??? You guessed it...another fighter who casn guarantee a payday in the tens of millions. So after an 18 month layoff he fights JMM.....fair enopugh i say...the man hasn't had a real fight in nearly 2 years.....then he tried to make the Pac fight, which Pac backed out of and now he is ducking again??? Give me a break.

You guys quite rightly point out Floyd has been at welter for 5 years and not fough the competition others have, but put it innto perspective. He has been very inactive at welter, he was "retired" for about 2.5 of those years and he did what anyone else would do when presented with ODLH and Hatton (including Pac) HE FOUGHT THEM!!! So in reality Floyd has not really ducked anyone at welter. He has just taken the big money fights that any other boxer would in his position, and he was trying to do that again against Pac...

I WILL BE THE FIRST TO CRITICISE FLOYD IF HE REMAINS AT WELTER AS Of NOW FOR A FEW YEARS AND DOES NOT FIGHT AT LEAST 2 OR 3 OF THE GUYS BELOW:

      - Mosley
      - Pac
      - Clottey
      - P. Will
      - Berto

But you can't sit there and say Floyd ducked this guy or that guy because he went and fought Hatton and Delahoya

Pac's actions are suspect. Every single recognised authority in this matter has stated that categorically. Scheduled testing with know cut-off times defeats the entire purpose of testing......this cannot be argued by any person on this forum.
Can you please state for the record a single medical professional who is an expert on PEDS who has at least insinuated that PAC is probably on roids so that Floyd's demand for blood testing will have at least a basis to proceed?

Is your claim of PEDS using not diametrically opposed to what has been claimed before that PACS opponents were either weight drained, shot or whatever excuse that has been floated before?

Correction on a couple of things bro. Cotto fought Judah to defend his WBA WW title, so no he was not 140lbs, he was already at WW division against Judah. Second, Margarito offered Floyd $8 million dollars way before Floyd agreed to fight Baldomir at the same price of $8 million dollars, way before DLH or any other fighter were mentioned or even contemplated for Floyd to fight. Hatton was not a WW but had to move back up to WW to fight Floyd and it was only about a year before that fight that Hatton had first moved up to WW, IMO i didn't considered him as a WW just like i didn't consider JMM as a WW when Floyd fought him. I will give credit for Floyd moving up to 154lbs to fight DLH, can't deny that. Calling Floyd a ducker is really just talking thrash in my part at least even though there is some truth behind it. But i consider Floyd's decision more of a "business decision" as well as a personal "health decision".

BTW, to be exact, Hatton moved up May 2006 to WW, came back down to JWW in Jan. 2007, and then moved back up to WW in July 2007. Now you can't be serious that JMM is a bigger draw than Mosley, Margarito, or Cotto. Either way, why fight a lightweight.

when Floyd fought Judah....Cotto was @ 140.....is what i meant

FYI - Arum has already stated on record Floyd wanted a 15 mil guarantee for Margarito and a 10 mil guarantee for Coto and Hatton when he was still with Top Rank....Arum said no...he also would not entertain a delahoya fight...so floyd bought out his contract for 750K and made the ddelahoya fight as a free agent....

Also i di not state i though JMM is a bigger draw than any1....those assumptions are coming from your fingertips....not mine.....but a guiy who has been inactive for nearly 2 years will not try to jump in against the best in the division off the bat......also the fight with JMM was a strategic move and a planned callout by goldenboyon behalf of JMM to build hype for a Pac fight......i mean floyd announced his return at pacs own conference.....floyd accepted all of team pacs contractual demands and 50/50 without batting an eyelid.....he could not have know asking for random testing would kill the fight especially after roach said it would be no problem.....floyd did everything to make the pac fight happen.....team pac did not...they called off negotiations and lined up another fight.........

Also as for Floyd fighting smaller guys....if you actually go through all the guys he has fought at all weights almost all outweighed him on fight night.....

It doesnt work like that, What if I say this things too... Pac ripped DLH, Hatton and Cotto easily, DLH fyt with floyd was split; Hatton fyt with Floyd took 10rnds and easy for pac at Hatton's undisputed weight; Cotto ripped judah that gave trouble to floyd. Does it mean that manny will also ripped floyd easily?Think man.

He doesn't get tired, pac does, he's defensive and offensive , pac has offensive only. He let cotto touch that chin let mayweather, lights out. Mayweather is almost a middleweight, the night of his fights. Thats why he didn't let them wiegh him the night of the marquez fight why he was a giant. Marquez said " i didn't know he was that big" he is almost 5"11 and and has the reach of a mdlwt. Do your homework. Mayweather by knockout in the 5th round. He doesn't make mistakes , does pac ask me about that califlower on his ear from the cotto fight, ever seen one of those on floyd" hell naw". Ever seen mayweather busted up"hell to the naw". Why "because mayweather doesn't take chances" no! That ain't the case. He does not make mistakes. You taken a chance when you step into the ring with a motha f___a!!!! Pac doen't have a chance . Check hook all night . Straight right hand pacs down he's down he ain't getting up said the broadcasters. Knockout by the fifth.

Who do you punch harder?Floyd? Please man........And also pac can last the whole 12 rnds even he keep on attacking.
