    How?
I guess we'll find out later this or next year when they fight. To me, I think Gamboa is faster and possibly a stronger puncher, but he keeps his hands low a lot and eventually someone will catch him. He's been down, but never really hurt. But at the same time, he loves taking chances so the risk factor both can both favor him and be his downfall.

Lopez as well has a lot of tools, but has also shown signs of vulnerability. He's a good boxer, but I don't think good enough yet to box for 12 rounds without getting lured in to slug (which would be a big mistake against Gamboa).

Tough one to call based on how their styles would pose, but my money right now is on Gamboa.

        Very simple....
He's fought the guy JML didnt want to rematch(if that fight had taken place anywhere else, it probably would've been stopped in the 11th or 12th).
And he is almost set to fight the guy(Caballero) that JML has been ducking.....

I like JML, think he's a good fighter, but need to see the fire in his eyes....cause all i see right now is $ in them..

but we wont get to see who IS actually better until they fight

JuanMa is trash. He has less defense than his idol, Felix Trinidad. That's sad. Also JuanMa gets reckless and sloppy a lot during his fights. I think Gamboa blows him away.

At a division 4 lbs. south. Some fighters can climb divisions, others aren't so gifted. Where's your objectivity?

Lopez hasn't looked great to me in his past two fights. I'm beginning to think he has already become enamored with the myth of his power, as happened to Tito and he's beginning to abandon his fundamentals at times. But that's just my opinion.

However, he knocked out the champ in that division. No ****er, but solid nonetheless.

I'm beginning to question the corner. No knock on my PR trainers, but I listen to their instructions and commands and I wonder if anybody with a little background could say the same things. I'm not noticing insights that truly mold fights, like Nacho telling JMM to use the upper against Juan Diaz, although he is on another level and probably had it figured out himself, but its that coaching that I'm missing from the PR fighter's corners, and its that missing link to seeing our fighters win sometimes.

He hasnt proven anything. His athleticism is obvious tho. I like JuanMa also and think it may be like a Roy Jones-Hopkins rivalry. Gamboas athleticism will propel him to the top faster, but I believe JuanMa will have the longer career.

Juanma is getting punched at times when he shouldn't be. I saw much unnecessary swinging for the fences in his last bout. Not that he needs to lower his punch output considerably, just be smarter and more efficient about it. It's almost like he gets desperate. He is a slower fighter, he needs placement and timing and flinging away is going to get him clocked against an elite.

Yea he was just throwing shots from the hip in this last fight. Hes not going to be able to get by on pure athleticism like Gamboa can, he needs to stick with the fundamentals. Hes got the perfect boxer/puncher thing going for him he just needs to work on staying disciplined.

Juanma has fought one time at 126 and already has a better resume than Gamboa who has been there and above since the start of his carrer, and is a "champ". Enough said!

                      a lopez fight vs a gamboa fight would end in a D for Lopez;

i think Lopez has the brains to stay far away from Gamboa and to control the fight with the jab.

we'll see when the fight gets made next year (let's hope).
