No doubt at all that Filipinos are proud for good reason and have brave men and women just like all cultures, but this boasting is hollow when viewed in an historic context. It's like if JMM were to talk about how in an ideal setting, he would have beat PBF to a pulp. That would be based in wishful thinking. Take pride in what exists. There is plenty. It's been coming for a while. Filipinos are a very proud people, however, they are typically a very modest people. Here in America most tend to drop their history and...well become American so alot of our history is lost but some of us have lost some of that modesty but kept the pride.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard Filipinos ****ted on as being physically weak due to their size. Its great to hear people standing up to this **** and if aa few people learn a little bit about our history, then the chest beating was worth it.

But do you really think that you're the only ones been dogged because of some physical characteristic? What about the Chinese? They were small...nobody ever doubted the power and culture of China. That's why the British traded opium for tea...once you got a big guy down, you can't let em up, you gotta' stay in the drivers seat for fear of what may happen if they get their hands on the wheel...

I dunno, I'm biased. I see a lot of negativity towards Filipinos here in the bay area (primarily from the AA community) and I see some of that same hostility here and in boxing in general.

Pinoy’s really need to stop overrating this warrior mentality. Mexicans had his warrior mentality and all their fighters have been owned and schooled.

Pinoy’s are not very proud people at all. People with Spanish blood are seen higher than Pinoys who didn’t mix. Northern Pinoy’s worship pinoy’s with Spanish blood. While the Southern pinoy don’t worship them. The Southern Pinoy are where the real warriors come from. They should have an independent southern Islamic state IMO
