Mayweather May Have Chosen Money Over Boxing Welfare
    By Leo Reyes.

Negotiations between the Mayweather and Mosley camps have suffered unnecessary delays due to the reported insufficiency of prize money that Mayweather will get by fighting Mosley on May 1.
Floyd (Money) Mayweather, Jr. seems to have chosen money more than anything else in his boxing career. His appetite for big money could have made him forget his responsibilities as a professional boxer.
After the failed Pacquiao-Mayweather negotiations, boxing fans were elated at the prospect of a Mosley-Mayweather fight. It was earlier reported that after the withdrawal of Andre Berto in the Mosley-Berto fight scheduled for January 31, Mayweather would immediately sign up with Mosley. In fact a date for the match has already been set for May 1.

It was gathered that the reason for the delay in signing up with Mosley is Mayweather thinks that the prize money that he will get is small compared to what he will get if he fights Pacquiao later in the year.

It appears that Mosley is now headed for an extended break from boxing after being reportedly 'prevailed upon' to drop Andre Berto in their January 31 face-off in favor of a Mayweather-Mosley fight which is expected to draw more crowd and pay-per-view buys from boxing fans.
Andre Berto whose parents are from the earthquake-devastated Haiti withdrew from the May 31 fight with Mosley citing distractions caused by the Haiti devastation.
