I never said it was in the making for a long time but I am saying if Al Haymon and Berto didn't discuss this then I think you are naive... Is not hard to believe that Haymon did not go to Floyd a couple of days before Berto made it official, again I am taking about a couple of days not a long time, and said look Berto is thinking about pulling out. And, Floyd letting Schafer know that... Lets not forget that before Berto officialy pulled out that Ellerbe was throwing Shane name out there for a potential fight in May/June. We can go back and look at articles from last week before Berto pulled out about a fight in May/June... how can you guys not believe something was discuss before hand is beyond me...
Now you are on a whole different arguement that depends on things none of us know. Who knows how the negotiations are going there has been nothing public stated by either party, maybe there is some issue over money that is certainly possible but the Friday thing is dumb and was made a big deal about over nothing so I can see why the threadstarter would talk **** in this manner.
Maybe the fight happeans maybe it does not but I am sure tehy are still working on it.Last edited by The Gambler1981; 01-24-2010, 10:12 PM.Comment

Well MIT, I really thought Shane was the original announcement. I was thinking then who is the big time name he is referring to? Only Mosley fit the bill in my opinion cause the other candidate they threw out to the public are certainly not big-time. My two cents on this.Comment

He could have just been doing promoter speak during that interview. It was puzzling who he was talking about at that point though but the couple days things could have just been optimistic on his part (had they even moved off of fighting on march 13th at that point, if they didn't they would have had to make a choice rieal quick).
Tough to really say.
Oh well, we'll just wait. Hopefully, Pbf-mosley get signed.Comment

Yup I agree. Which is why I'm thinking that they already approached Berto and Mosley before the Haiti accident. But this is just my thoughts, nothing to back it up except that quote "big-time" fighter. If it is just promoter speak and pbf signed with mathew hatton, the boards would crucify schaefer. But then again, I don't think he will care.

True that. To me, Cintron is not big a name but to the some ... maybe. Agree, let's just wait.Comment
