valero is too wide and predictable for gamboa, gamboa would tee off on him. if valero can take it to deep waters in a grueling fight, he's got natural power, so his power will stay with him the whole fight, there i would give him a punchers chance. i think valero would be knocked down and around if he tried to stand and trade or punch with gamboa.

i've never been impressed with valero, as much as i would like to root for a ko artist, not a guy who's fought mostly against limited opposition, only two guys i think were credible that he ko'd.

    gamboa ko's valero.

      gamboa ko's valero.
Gamboa's competition is far worse than Valero's and his chin is very shaky. Valero should be able to stretch him with the first good shot he lands at 135.
Until Gamboa proves that he can destroy good opponents north of 130 this is the only reasonable analysis.

Gamboa by KO. Valero has too many openings and Gamboa is one of the most accurate punchers in boxing. Also Gamboa has fought a few times at 130 and is actually a huge FW.

Valero is to offensive for Gamboa. Gamboa has been knock'd down by feather fisted fighters. I see Gamboa respecting Edwins power.

Damn I never thought of this match-up, but this fight would be a classic for however long it lasted. Valero has the edge in power, and Gamboa has the edge in speed, but they both excel in those categories. I question both guys chin and defense... Gamboa's skills far surpass Valero though, so I think that would likely get him the KO within 5 rounds. I got to play this **** on Fight Night later...

Gamboa is a FW and Valero is now a full sized LW. Valero would decapitate him.
Its funny how this poll is panning out, Gamboa is fast and flashy but he wouldnt have much for Valero, it would be a short shootout with Gamboa going down.

Valero has crazy power, he lands on Gamboa it's over. I doubt he keeps Valero off him for 12 rounds.

As gifted a boxer as he is I still don't like the odds of Gamboa jumping two divisions up and challenging the hardest puncher in the sport especially when your own set of whiskers are really shaky. That right there is a major recipe for disaster. Despite fighting like a caveman and brute at 130-135, Valero has not visited the canvas six times like Gamboa.

Gamboa will be waking up next week wondering which car hit him when all is said and done.
