Looking past negotiations - to the fight.

Assuming all goes to plan and Mosley vs. Mayweather gets made, how do we see the fight going?

Personally, I think that Mosley presents Mayweather with just as much of a challenge as Pacquiao, if not more. I think that Mayweather's particular skill set would serve him far more effectively against Pacquiao than I see it working against Mosley.

I see Mayweather controlling range with his jab and lead right in the opening rounds, frustrating Mosley's attempts to close distance and make Floyd slug. As the fight goes on, I see Mosley finding his rhythm as he always does, and finding his way in with lead hooks and getting Mayweather on the ropes, and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Floyd get in trouble a few times in this fight.

I think in the later rounds after Mayweather adjusts, he controls the action and slides a UD or a late stoppage, but not without significant difficulty.

    What are your thoughts?

Every fighter has his last big win. Margarito was Mosley's. IMO Mosley's gotten older and he'll grow even older on May 1 (if the fight does happen on that date if it happens at all).

Mosley's reflexes won't be there, the oomph on his punches won't be there and the solid chin that carried him in his past fights wont be there.

Don't get me wrong. He'll try to give Mayweather hell, but Mayweather won't be standing in front of him trading punches like a Margarito or a Mayorga. Mosley will have to cut him off and chase him, and that will make the fight harder for Mosley.

This will be for retirement money IMO, winning over Mayweather would be just a bonus, and probably would give him his ticket to his REAL retirement match against Pacquiao.
