I made a thread a week ago, right after Berto backed out titled what is Floyd's thoughts and what are your thoughts. This is what I wrote:
on Floyd vs Mosley or Pac? Basically my question is which fight do you think is harder and which fight do you feel that Floyd thinks is harder? Im asking because I think some will find it very strange for him to fight Mosley over even a so called steriod version of Pac because many think Mosley is the harder fight for Floyd for a good amount less money. You get what Im saying? Did he make the right choice? Who is harder for Floyd to beat? This version of Pac or this Mosley? Even if its close then you would think that Floyd would pick Pac because of the money and alot of people think that Floyd may own Pac but would have hell with Mosley. Thats just a little weird for Floyd to go that route.
-------------------------------
If the Marley article is true then that just goes more to that point. Now lets say for a second that the Marley article is true. I still say that Floyd Jr. never once thought about Pac really using roids. I think it came from his dad and blew up. Now the fight went away and Junior may feel like he let everyone else dictate what is going on and now he feels like he's fighting a harder guy for less money. Not only that but most likely he has to fight both guys and he would seemingly make more money if he went Pac then Mosley instead of Mosley then Pac.
Now lets say that its not all the way true. Lets just say that Floyd has no problem fighting Mosley but the only problem right now is money. Floyd wants a much bigger share than Mosley is willing to give and because GBP is a partner of Mosley's, everything is getting screwed up. I guarantee you Floyd wants something between 65-70 percent while Mosley wants something between 40-45 percent. I think Floyd feels Mosley is a nobody when it comes to PPV and he may be the #1 WW but Floyd retired as the #1 and is ranked higher by everyone P4P. He thinks its ****** to fight Mosley if he's not going to get a big share of the money. Both of them think they have leverage but if I know Floyd he will say **** it and try me. He dont care what the public thinks. He wont let Shane & GBP bully him into taking an average deal. He wants what he thinks he's worth or he will move the **** on. All that was even before he heard that Clottey was only guaranteed a mil. Now he probably wants 70 or 75 percent.
The problem with all of this is perception. Just like the Pac negotiations, everything will always be Floyds fault. If the Mosley fight breaks down then everyone will blame Floyd. Even the most loyal die hard Floyd fans are now saying that if this fight doesnt go through then they will never defend Floyd again so what do you guys think Mosley is using as leverage? The truth is that this fight could break down over money and it may truly not be Floyd's fault. He is a much bigger star than Mosley. He just did a million buys with a nobody in JMM and Mosley was about to fight Berto on regular HBO. He's not going to give Mosley 40% like everyone keeps saying, e****ally with Top Rank raping Clottey. Why would he? Why should he? He may not make a ton but he's still going to do well fighting anyone. Shane will make peanuts fighting someone else.
Floyd is not going to lose a Pac fight then move to a maybe tougher guy in Mosley and give him great numbers. It would be dumb. I think the fight may get called off or close to it and then Mosley will wise up and except less because he is desperate. Floyd needed GBP to deal with Top Rank but in this sistuation it becomes a hinderance because GBP has to do right by Mosley. Then you have that idiot Hopkins in Shane's ear telling him not to go for this & that even though he has priced himself out of a ton of fights. Its just all messed up right now and I think Floyd wishes that the Pac fight wouldve went through but he let his dad & advisors ruin it. Now he's not going to lose twice just because of the 1st one fell through. He'll fight Shane but he wants what he is worth because he is the man, not Shane. Shane always talks like he's a big star but he's not and thats what's going on now. I think they will settle on 65/35 or 66.4/33.6 and that will be it but we have time so dont go too crazy
