Gamboa vs John-When will the WBA force this fight to see who is the real champ?

Both are the WBA champs, its just that John is the "Super" champ (whatever that means) and Gamboa is just the regular champ. Usually whenever a guy fights for an interm title like Gamboa did, then a fight with the current champ is sure to follow. My question to the board is how long can the WBA go about having two champs before they have to force a fight, and also how do you see this fight playing out?

I like Gamboa but John is better than most people give him credit for. This is the same guy that outboxed Juan Manuel Marquez and other top tier guys at 126.

seems like johns promoters were more then happy to go back to indonesia and sit on the title... i doubt they want this fight and at this point i dont give john much of chance. rocky had john badly hurt twice and i think both juanma and gamboa stop john at this point in his career. still its a great fight and i would wanna see it, arum said he wants it. we'll see ... personally i still see caballero as a much bigger threat to the both of them ...

First of all, I hate the W.B.A. like everyone else does, they are the worst decease of the sanctioning bodies.

Chris John is a very talented boxer, but after seeing him struggling against the slow Juarez, makes me wonder if he still in his prime. I know he's young and everything but he spent too much time fighting nobodies in Indonesia and Japan. Gamboa might be too sharp, too fast and strong for him, he would give him the beating of his life.

well i also wanna say i think john would fight em .. not to sure if his promoters would put it together. especially with rumors of him fighting Daud Yordan which would have to be a huge fight in indonesia

Top rank need to push for the fight, If they dont then Chris john's promoter might not see why they havr to fight Gamboa, John would beat Gamboa if they fight now.

Gamboa is still pretty fresh he's only had 17 fights, taking on the unbeaten John would be a hell of a step up from the likes of the Rogers Mtagwa or any of the fighters he's fought so far.

I would imagine that they would match up Juan Manuel Lopez first as he is the bigger name and now a two weight champ before Gamboa

Same John that almost got KO'd by Juarez late? John is good, but Juarez was like averaging like 30 punches a round, getting off solid shots, and wore him down. Had Juarez picked up the pace he would have had a shot at John. Gamboa would most definitely have a chance a beating John, and I dare say even KO him.

Keep Gamboa's amateur pedigree in mind. His resume is second to none. He's probably seen all kinds of styles and fighters. His professional career may be 'fresh', but his boxing experience is just as good as anyone's.

Yer I agree Gamboa's amateur career is very good. But i would be surprised if the put him in with John just yet.
