    Sauerland card Jan 30: Helenius-Brewster and Pulev-Platov

No one in his right mind would accuse Sauerland of over-protecting their young heavyweights.

2008 Olympian Robert Helenius (10-0) has already fought and stopped two decent heavyweights (Gammer and *****ko) in his first 10 fights, and is now set to face former WBO world titleholder Lamon Brewster.

Bulgaria's super heavyweight at the 2009 world amateurs Kubrat Pulev (4-0) turned pro in September 2009 and has already fought and defeated a top 50 opponent in Gbenga Oloukun. Now he'll be facing BoxRec #25 heavyweight Matt Skelton (24-4).

And we'll also have age 21 Edmund Gerber (9-0) fighting BoxRec #46 young veteran Rene Dettweiler (25-2).

    This is tough matchmaking!

Lyell is a courageous, determined journeyman who will be a short notice replacement in the main event.

He doesn't have power or world-class skills, but he does have heart and an aggressive style. He's never in a dull fight.

Yes. Duddy was undefeated and considered a top middleweight up-and-comer at the time.

Universum has the opposite approach, take Champs like Dzinziruk and potential titleists like Gevor and Golovkin and prevent them from fighting, interesting contrast.

Pulev needs to box and not get brave.

Universum has been getting even worse the past couple of years, wasting talent.

Pulev-Platov is a 50-50 fight, could go either way. Pulev has lots of amateur experience, Platov has plenty of pro experience.

Not much difference in talent. Platov hits harder and Pulev is a better technical boxer.

lol if that's true then it doesn't bode well for Pulev's future.

Nah, i like Platov alot and wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot vs a Sam Peter or Thompson or somebody like that but i can't ever see him being a serious title challenger

Platov's style could best be described as "a cyclone of unbridled rage & fury". He's Perun in boxing gloves
